Royal Rother Worth remembering (when considering Liverpool's pending achievement) that a couple of months ago it was popular opinion amongst the pundits (spit) that this was shaping up to be the best / highest quality Premier League ever, as so many teams were playing stunning football.

I don't remember anyone saying that - I thought it was because of how close it all was and how anyone could emerge from the pack as a winner.

I certainly don't think it's been a stellar year for quality of football. You can't say any of the teams stack up against the likes of any of Ferguson's classic Utd sides, Arsenal's invincibles, Chelsea under Mourinho the first time etc.

Regarding the first two of those, Liverpool will score more goals in a season than any of them.
They could even become the highest Premier League goalscorers.
That IMHO would be some achievement for a team that came 7th last season with very little change in the squad whereas Man Utd are heading for their lowest position since the start of the Premier League.

Yes, Liverpool have had a very good season and will fully deserve their title win should it come to pass. I have enjoyed watching them on many occasions since last August.

I am however of the opinion that they're not a classic team, would make no dent in the CL with that squad, and would struggle to retain their title without notable investment.

Hmm, I'm not so sure. The transformation has been so dramatic I think there could be another year of improvement left in them.

That said, the advantage of not being in Europe this season was huge I suspect. And they will need a bigger squad next season to cope with that extra workload.

So, yes, you're probably right! :D

So now is probably a good time to have a large punt on Man United winning the league next season.

Man Friday Man City will win the PL. Liverpool will bottle it.

Can't see that, Liverpool have the optimum game last up - Newcastle (H).

If they could have hand picked a last game they had to win, I reckon that would be it.

But I think they'll drop 3 points before that.

Januzaj snr says his son will reprisent Belgium but if Kosovo get full FIFA membership then he will swap and play for them instead.

no idea whether that is in FIFA rules to do that though. Kinda sounds plausable tbf

Of course they are. They're highly paid professional footballers.

Whether all the quotes are true is another matter of course but they do fit the bill.

What a dreadful fooking dive from Wellbeck for that opener

Back to the Fergie mode of getting penalties that no ordinary team get.

Where was the contact ?
Wellbeck has slipped at least three times and that was one of them.

Much as I dislike United, the Norwich player clearly pulled Wellbeck back and I'm astonished he wasn't red carded

Considering the pen was given, I was astonished the player didn't go

As for pulled back.... he brushed him, then Wellbeck dug his toes in the ground so he could go over. Still a dive imo
