sandman You seem to think everything is about what happens on the pitch when a great deal happens on the training ground. They improve by working hard on the training ground to get into the team and keep up to the levels of the likes of Aguero.
Do you think Gareth Bale is sitting at Valdebebas thinking 'I've made it, no need to put the effort in'? Or do you think he's working hard everyday to be at the same level as Cristiano Ronaldo?
Beckham was a great example. Everyone at Madrid thought he was a show pony there to sell shirts, even the likes of Zidane and Figo admitted feeling like that in an FFT magazine interview a couple of months back. However, they said he worked so hard to be at that level and be as good as them that through his determination and effort he earned their respect.
Think Beckham and Bale's success is largely down to natural talent, though of course determination plays a part.
Personally, I can't see why anyone other than Man City fans would get excited about Man city winning the league. A few years ago yes they were rich, but they were still the underdog upsetting the establishment, playing decent football, with quite a few British players.
Now they are a bunch of foreign mercenaries. No effort whatsoever to incorporate a British identity into their team. They are the favourites for the title.
Liverpool are now the underdogs. Perhaps winning the league for the 1st time in 25 years. Nobody gave them a chance, but they're playing great football and using predominantly English/British footballers. Them winning the League would do wonders for the confidence and career progress of young players such as Sturridge, Sterling, Henderson and Flanagan. Therefore, it would also help the England national team, a team that I support due to being English.
Just can't see why an English neutral would follow City at this point in time. If you want to watch foreigners play nice football you might as well watch a La Liga match than Man City.
