Our crap season thus far has nothing to do with the playing staff, management, ownership or shit fans. No. Our crap season thus far can singularly be put down to the lack of the Rougeometer. See it return and see us climb up the table.

After a long summer, I went down to the basement and pulled off dust sheets from The Rougeometer. It looked forgotten, sad and broken. I stood by its side, wondering about its future, thinking that like a broken horse it may need to be humanely extinguished. It's standby LED was hardly flickering. I placed a gentle hand on its side and I swear I heard it whisper the word YES. Then an amazing thing happened - the lights started going crazy, it was like a magical laser light show. The maching was whirring away and it delivered 2 messages. The first simply said 'Let's do this' and the second said the below:

Rougeometer on course for another correct prediction, and it's only made one all season.

Turns out Rouge was being slightly economical with the truth about what happened to our dear Rougeometer.

....after the Rougeometer initially burst into life it became immediately apparent that the huge surge of power after being left to rust was too much, with lights exploding and sparks flying the poor Rougeometer was entering it's final throes. After such a promising commotion of "LET'S DO THIS" the Rougeometer changed tone..... other noises, those of mechanical meltdown were getting louder, life started ebbing away...... "come closer young man and I'll share my infinite wisdom." said the Rougeometer no longer able to muster up more than a whisper.

The Rouge was initially cautious, for her loved his dear Rougeometer, but with the sounds coming out of it there could be an explosion at any time..... nonetheless he moved towards the faint robotic noise which started to grow enthusiastically in stature over the fizzing and popping, the bipping and the bopping;

"....1st/2nd 26.3%.....3rd-6th 46.1%.......7th-12th 22.1%......13th-21st 5.2%....22nd-24th 0.3%...................... run to HNA? run my Rougey, the world needs to know.......".

"thank you...." replied the Rouge, he knew something was wrong, this could not continue, as tears starting to well in his eyes he softly kissed the Rougeometer as his hand creeped ever closer to the off switch. "......and farewell sweet prince"
