TBM We have the likes of Maidenhead and Basingstoke we can use to bed our younger players into first team football.....if we were allowed to send more "on loan" their, it could essentially be our B team and will also benefit the clubs receiving the players

melonhead Would.prefer teams to just continue using the loan system
Good for prem teams, good for young players, good for lower league teams
Stockpiling doesn't matter if they're being loaned elsewhere

Hoop Blahmelonhead There seems a decent flow of young British players coming through without this

Well it does, because it means the wealth associated to the player accumulates at the big clubs.

Sutekh Stupid idea. All you need to do is cap the number of foreigners ( non English ) in clubs starting 11s to 5 so that means on the field of play there must always be at least 6 English players (the definition of English being, born in England or having an English parent) in any one side.

Unfortunately I think the EU may have something to say about that.

SpaceCruiser I note that somebody said in the HYS on that bbc article something about hockey clubs having multiple teams in regional leagues. That's completely irrelevant, hockey is mostly an amateur sport, it's not like those clubs stockpile their 5/6 teams with professional players.....
