genome Maybe should've gone for the other corner though.

Keeper clearly anticipating that and harder to get accuracy from the way he'd have to strike the ball. You can't blame him for superb defending. He did nothing wrong.

Mccleary's was an easier chance if you want someone to moan at. Not that he really fluffed it. Just good keeping.

A 1v1 is not as easy as a 1v0.

You're so one eyed it's untrue. Defender & keeper to beat for Pog, with a second defender coming in for the block.

Look at the keeper's positioning, enough pace on the shot and he would've beaten Heaton in that corner.

For christ sake this is petty criticism in the extreme. Look at Pog's body shape and how the ball is reaching him easier to place it back across the goal, beating the keeper and near defender. Took an awesome block to stop it. Yeah if he hit it at the open side well it would have taken an even more amazing save to stop it but it would have been harder to hit it accurately and the keeper was clearly going that way.
Either option was valid. Most days thats a goal either way. He got unlucky. Get over it.
Clyde1998semtex1871 Have been trying to find footage of the incident when their keeper looked like he handled outside the box but cannot find it anywhere.....has anyone got a link?
I recorded the match, so I've seen it back. It was a brilliant piece of goalkeeping - he caught the ball on the line and twisted his body so the ball stayed on the line of the penalty box.

That's what Sky claimed but I'm still pretty sure that he stretched out and initially caught the ball outside his area but then twisted his body in flight so that he landed with his hands and the ball part way behind the line. Very good goalkeeping but I think he got lucky in that the lino (like Sky) looked at where he landed as opposed to considering where his hands were when they first made contact with the ball.

Why are you so militant about everything Ian? I am not blaming Pog for superb defending. I was merely observing that if he had managed to hit it in the other corner then it stood more chance of going in. I'm only really going on my memory of the situation. Did he have enough time to take a touch and steady himself for a more powerful shot?

strap With all due respect gentlemen, all this talk of cocking up v Burnley is nonsense. We missed out on a play-off spot because we didn't have the brains or skill to score twice against the team finishing bottom of the league and reduced to 8 (EIGHT!) men.
At the start of the season we would have been more than satisfied to fight-back to take a point off the team finishing a good second in the league.
It's gone, move on. We have far more pressing hurdles to navigate during this close season. With the injuries and form we have been displaying this season, does anyone seriously think we had a chance against a resurgent Derby over 2 legs?
