Sad to see them go, but pleased that we've let them go.

Hard to be surprised, but certainly disappointed Jobi's gone.

Big thanks for the good times to Ledge and Kasparss. Pleased to see Taylor and Bridge gone.

That's a fair old wedge saved.

To be fair, this is a win win situation for Adkins next year. If he brings in youngsters and they play well, then Adkins can get the plaudits for doing so. If they come into the team and they don't do too well, then he could argue that we have a young side.

Either way, I can't see promotion next year

blueroyals Would have rather seen those stealing a living from the club who are still under contract released.

Thought Jobi had a great season, he's one that I'd have liked to be given a contract. Ledge had a good few games back too..

Not fussed about the rest.

End of the post-Coppell era. A complete squad turn-over....

You are aware that we have to pay up the entire contract of anyone we release who still has one?

Why on earth would we want to pay Pog two year's wages now?

I reckon ledge and Jobi will end up at somewhere like Brentford, and Kaspers possibly at a lower level, maybe abroad?

As for Taylor - he'll continue to steal a living as a bench warmer til the end of time*

* I'm not knocking him - he's the footballing equivalent of me.

With administration looming if you don't get rid of players, it's a good move to ship out the likes of Jobi Notgoodenuff etc and give some of those decent youngsters their chance.

kwik-silva Mikele, Kaspars, Jobi, Stuart Taylor, and Wayne Bridge will all leave the club at the end of the season.

With all players, I think its best to get rid just before they start to fade. So, too late on four of them and dubious with Jobi.

The decline of Gorkksssshh has been pretty precipitous. Sad, as I absolutely love the guy.

You're not really clear on how contracts work then?

Thought Leigertwood might have been giving a short renewal. He's only 31.

Three players who had big ups and big downs with the club. They achieved a great deal more than most.

Going to resent Drenthe and his pre match grosvenor antics even more now, paying that chump to sit on the bench and hassle his old RM teammates for a WhatsApp message whilst Jobi gets on with the job in hand at another club. Fooooksake

Thats got to be a least 200k+ on wages saved, glad Bridge has gone, thought we might have kept Taylor and Jobi, sad to see Ledge and Jobi go. Gorkks will remain in my heart forever just for that clearence vs Barnsley

kwik-silva "Club confirm conversations are ongoing with Michael Hector and Jake Taylor in terms of the duo staying at the club"

Pleased about this.

Also this "Discussions with the club’s other out of contract Under 21 players will be held in due course."

Sad to see Jobi go but the rest were fairly easy decisions to make.

Leigterwood (sic) was the best player on the pitch Saturday. Everything Guthrie has failed to be this season. Bizarre decision.

All about money - looks like we have no choice but to lose all the out of contract players irrespective of how good they are.

Lovely hot donuts! Obviously annoying that all the above players may have to leave but, with them being older players, I'm not going to lose to much sleep on the basis that it would be exciting to see young players coming through.
HOWEVER, Michael Hector, Jake Taylor, Nick Arnold, Niall Keown, Aaron Tshibola, Shepherd Murombedzi,Tarique Fosu, Stuart Moore, Dan Lincoln, Sean Long, Jake Cooper, Matt Partridge, Pierce Sweeney, Shane Griffin, Gozie Ugwu & Lawson D'ath will all be out of contract in a few weeks. This is much more of a concern. I know it will be easier to give the younger players new contracts but nevertheless, if we can't give Chris Baird a four month deal, I can't help but be sceptical as to whether or not we will be able to hold onto all these young players - many of whom are highly rated. I would be really upset if the ownership situation meant we had this good group of youngsters taken away from us and we couldn't even have them to fall back on.

I am sure I've read some of these are on contracts during the season....

This may be completely untrue but my son knows one of the academy lads and Taylor has apparently been offered lower league one/upper league 2 level contract so if that is true don't expect many to sign.

As in 'lower league 1 level' 1st team contract?
Given that he's only played 9 times in the Championship you would not expect him to be offered a championship 1st team level contract would you?

He looks decent and he may have potential, but as of right now, if he left he'd be unlikely to be offered 1st team football by anyone above lower league 1.

My hope now is that Adkins is given the opportunity to bring in the players he wants to play the way he intended to from the start. Some sort of message of intent from the club would be good right now !.

Fair bet to say all 6 may have been on at least 20K.
I reckon between 120K and 150K saved per week.
