St. Brynjar I've always thought Animal Nitrate by Suede could be worked into a decent football chant.

Love a bit of Suede

Last season there were times where we could have adapted it into "what does it take to score a goal, goal"

If we still had him 'Chris Bairdinhooooo, ooooooh' would have been cool.

Any man-love for Gunts?

How about trying to make something out of The Asphalt World? Could keep it crowd-friendly by basing it on the 9 & a half minute version:

We know a star who runs the Reading wing
He takes the ball and blasts it past Rob Green
And there's the volley v Burnley that sent us all f''in crazy
He's the Royals number 12, his name is Garath McCleary
We know a star who runs the Reading wing
And where will he run?
And what will he do?
And how does it feel when he goes past you?
Will he go down the line or cut past you inside?
Then shoot and score!

Needs a bit of work and another verse then several thousand getting their head round the best track off the best album ever. But we've got all close season & nothing else going on ....

JakeTheRoyal Right, last two games of the season I thought we created quite the atmosphere to add to this, we need some new player songs, so I am thinking songs for :

- Pearce (something to do with the step-over ?)

- Karacan (Just a loveable feller, wouldn't mind the Turkish kebab man actually sung properly)

- Obita (better song, considering he is POTS)

- J.Taylor (Possibility)

- Michael Hector (apart from 'one MH')

For Karacan how about adapting "Caravan of Love" by The Isley Brothers as covered by The Housemartins into "Karacan of Love".
"Every woman, every man, join the Karacan of love. Stand up. Stand up. Stand up. Stand up."
It would be a bit non-sensical (OK, not on a par with the Bill Oddie song) but if it takes off we could have the stadium standing up to it.

If this becomes a reality it could be quality. Easy to follow, catchy and gets people on their feet. Win win

+1 please please please

Big Foot
Will95 Viva Alex Pearce,
Viva Alex Pearce,
Solid at the back, keeping out the attack,
Viva Alex Pearce

No no no

It goes like this

Viva Alex Pearce, viva Alex Pearce,
Solid at the back, keeping out the blacks,
Viva Alex Pearce

First sung in 2008/09 ish when he was getting picked ahead of Duberry & Bikey IIRC

Yes, yes, but he's not exactly keeping any blacks out atm is he?

Only in a stadium that allowed nothing sharper than a crayon perhaps!

He's O-B-I-T-A
He knows his song is rubbish but he's O-B-I-T-A

Like that. Was always a loud chant for Murty.

JakeTheRoyal - Pearce (something to do with the step-over ?)

To the tune of the old Robin Hood song,

Alex Pearce, Alex Pearce steps over the ball
Alex Pearce, Alex Pearce thinks he's Ronaldo
Strong at the back, joins the attack
Alex Pearce, Alex Pearce, Alex Pearce

For those who don't know the song, it went something like this:

Robin Hood, Robin Hood, riding through the glen
Robin Hood, Robin Hood, with his band of men
Feared by the bad, loved by the good
Robin Hood, Robin Hood, Robin Hood

and a wav file can be downloaded here: http://users.ox.ac.uk/~archery/old/hood.html

Is it too soon to recycle Jobi's song for Jordan Obita?

His name is Jordan, he was a winger
But your not playing over there
the manager he did declare

You're now a left back
But I may back track
Once Jobi's gone as we didn't get along

Woke up this morning feeling fine
Jordan Obita's on my mind
He plays football the way everyone should, oh yeah
Something tells me I'm in to something good

IN for Alex Pearce to Robin Hood.

There was a good Hector one I know but it escapes me at the moment...

His name is Jordan, Jordan Obita, the hottest wing back since Lallana
he was a winger and then a full back, now he's our Nigel's choice as a fall back
he's in a diamond and then a defence, wherever he plays it makes good sense

Hadn't realised Barry Manilow could be so entertaining! 8)
