Anyone else record the Barcelona v Athetico Madrid game with the intention of watching it after the FA Cup final, only to have it ruined by cockend Clive Tydesley mentioning what the final score was in extra time of the cup final?

Hamburg save themselves from a first relegation in the shakiest way possible. Hanging on by their fingertips in the end at Greunter Fürth to win the playoff on away goals.

Back in the days when Valencia were very good under Benitez (pre-Liverpool).

It's Atleti's first title since 1996.

The shame of it is, as soon as one of the other clubs wins the league (like Atleti this year) they will instantly get the side ripped apart and so have a very reduced chance of maitaining a title challenge the next season.

Watched Dortmund vs Bayern in the German cup final on Saturday night - very tight game, 2 teams cancelling each other out. Complete polar opposite of the FA Cup Final, which for me was a classic Cup Final.

Anyhow, Bayern ran out 2-0 winners with goals in ET from Robben and Muller. Dortmund denied a clear goal after a Hummels header was hooked clear in normal time despite being well over the line

I saw a picture of that "goal" on Facebook. It was as far over the line as Mendes's "goal" for Spurs that Carroll fumbled!

Starfish I was at a game at the opposite end of the table. Greuther Fürth needed a win and Paderborn not to win to be promoted to the 1. Bl automatically. They won, but Paderborn also did and now Fürth face a play-off with Hamburg (the only club in the Bundesliga to have played every season in the top tier (since 1963-64) ). Fürth's local (hated) rivals 1. FC Nuremberg were relegated on Saturday so Fürth could replace them in Division 1, which has never before been the case.

Dresden will not be missed by fans in the 2. Bl though. I thought their away support excellent when they played in Fürth, but they tend to cause trouble, and visiting Dresden (an excellent city for a weekend) as an away fan can be a very trying experience, by all accounts. I also would not write off Darmstadt - teams coming out of the third tier tend to hold their own in the second (one would hope that is not the case with RB Leipzig, however).

You were right about Darmstadt. Turned round a 3-1 home defeat to win the second leg 4-2 after ET and go up on away goals.

Just showed Spanish matey at work

Says he would agree with most of them, but not Filipe Luis and Gabi

He was also hesitant over having Diego Costa over Messi, both only had decent "half seasons" but Messi is Messi

Rangers, Hearts & Hibs all in Scottish Div 1 next season with one automatic promotion place up for grabs

can imagine whoever shows football up there might be tempted to swap their SPL games to Div 1

Funny enough, that is the town Spanish matey from work comes from

Haven't read the article but he's hopefully they will be let in but its all down to finances as they need to have a certain amount, even though they are debt free
