SPARTA I'm not ITK, never claim to be. I speak with a few people offline who are, and these guys are the American's. I would always suggest you take everything with a pinch of salt. Just because we have guests, it doesn't mean anything is close. We had two choppers land after xmas, and here we still are.

Your friends are ITK but by extension you aren't.

How does that work?

If any of this talk of administration is true, surely no-one would be interested in buying us until after administration when it will be at a massively discounted price?

Depends on the ambition of those interested parties. Administration will put us on -10 points and just about end any hopes of a promotion campaign.

In 2005-6 we could have taken a 10 point hit and still breezed promotion. No reason we couldn't do it again.....

I think we can safely say that we had a stronger base to start from in 2004-5.

Hahnemann, Shorey, Murty, Ingimarsson, Sidwell, Harper, Little & Kitson had all already proved they were amongst the best in the division. We had a strong and proven midfield partnership. Most of a quality back 5 already in place. A working right flank. A striker pushing 20 goals.

It was just missing a couple of key additions.

This year, we haven't had a settled midfield. Our defence has been very unsettled. We're likely to lose several of our best players, we lost none of those after 2004-5.

Still, another play off challenge isn't beyond the realms of possibility if things go well this summer.

genome Can someone please summarise what's going on so I don't have to read the last few pages.

Thanks.

The Americans flew in, found we hadn't got them a birthday cake, played a few video games and then buggered off on Thunderbird 2. Apparently there was a worse crisis elsewhere, a cat was stuck up a tree.

The identity of the visitors remains unclear. There have been suggestions that they were members of the American consortium who held talks with Madejski last year but getreading understands that is not the case.

Another overwhelming success for the ITK brigade.

He already has ties to the Berkshire area. There's even a book on it:
