Good lager is good.

Bad lager is f**king awful.

Good craft beers and ales are amazing.

Bad ones are terrible.

Lager can be good but I'd rather have a good ale/craft beer than a good lager and much, much rather have a bad bitter over something like a Carling.

If it wasn't very nice Brendy people wouldn't drink it. If you can't find something you like you're really not trying hard enough as I've told you on many, many, occasions. Now do more research please.

Not keen, a proper scrumpy is okay but eh, perry is much nicer. Berry and other sweet ciders are puke.

The people I know who drink ale are discerning about what they drink and often started as lager drinkers before realising how much nicer ale is. The people I know who drink lager are a mix of similarly discerning drinkers and those who just want to chuck it down their neck's to get pissed.

Have any of you been to the Rebellion Brewery in Marlow.

I went last Tuesday, great evening. £15 to get in and for that you get 5 beer vouchers (6 different ales available) plus a free Rebellion pint glass. We were able to get a few extra vouchers by talking to people who weren't using all of theirs. They also have a BBQ going (which you have to pay for) but their sausages are REALLY good.

I would highly recommend it, but then we did have free entry :D :D

The problem with trying to provide real ale on the concourses is down to shelf life of the product. Once it has been opened, it needs to be consumed within 2 to 3 days. Whereas I dislike UK lager, badly kept ale is even worse.

Given the volumes it sells in I can't see why this is an issue.

We're not talking about a non league game shifting the odd pint at half time.

What do you dislike about UK Lager? Would you rate Kronenbourg and Carlsberg over a Camden Town Pilsner?

It's the mass produced muck that winds me up - the ones with all the chemicals and preservatives. Now, Windsor & Eton Brewery Republika is outstanding and I have been known to drink that along with Grand Union Pilsner when it was available.

Yes, that is a problem but not insurmountable. If there is any left at the end of the game surely they should just keep the bars open like they do in many grounds with the tellies on etc and sell the remaining at a discounted price. It's not rocket science.

Indeed. You could say the same about the pies.

It's pretty basic stock control management given the volumes involved. Far harder at a quiet country pub with three different lines on.
