"So, the games going back on then?"
"Yes, in 9 minutes."
"That's good news. So, you've decided to resume the match?"
"Yes, the weather has cleared up."
"That's good. Why did you decide that?"
"Because the weather cleared up."
"What were you doing in the radar room?"
"Checking the radar."
"So the game's going ahead?"
"YES"

I'm not happy with all these clumsy challenges from Honduras, someone's going to get crocked.

As I said

TBM Not being funny but why did we play a South American side so close to the World Cup, everyone knows they will go in hard and play dirty and now cos of it Ox is out with knee ligament damage. We would have been better off playing a Norway or Iceland

Positives, Lallana looking decent. Erm... Henderson's playing alright I spose.

England basically relying on mistakes from the opposition to do anything and making loads of errors at the back themselves. Hart has been ropey. As was Johnson early on. Rooney continues to fail to impress in an England shirt. Sturridge some good some casual. Welbeck did something good but hasn't shown a lot otherwise.

Hope Ox makes it back. We could do with more trickery, movement and pace. I think Welbeck has to be back up for Lallana who must surely be in the XI.

Christ we look a zillion times better in midfield instantly with interplay between Barkley and Wilshire. Even with the loose pass.

Why are we bringing on paper thin Jack Wilshere (Pretty sure commentator said Geoff Wilshere) in an overly rough friendly?

Might as well give him game time and break him when we can bring in a replacement, if he's going to break.

Much, much better with a genuine no. 10 on the pitch rather than the hapless Rooney. There was a better structure about our play in the second half but there was no tempo in the game so ultimately a borefest. Barkley is the biz but won't get near the pitch next Saturday. Sterling has to play.

Royal Ginger Sturridge trying a bit too hard?

Can't believe he didn't bury one of those three chances.

Seriously impressed with the younger players. But not quite there. I think the red card was bad news for England because Honduras just totally shut up shop.

I'd be seriously tempted to go like this against Italy.

.....................Hart
..Johnson..Cahill..Jagielka..Baines
...........Henderson.Wilshire
Stirling..........Barkley..........Lallana
..................Sturridge

Dynamic, flair and excited, maybe error prone and lacking experience obvs. But Rooney's done nothing for me, Gerrard is the past. Won't happen of course.

Have to agree with Gerrard, if only the ref had sent off more Honduran players England might have had a chance of winning that game.

Also have to agree with Roy that if the pitch had been different England might have had a chance of winning that match.

I think that if England had scored more goals than Honduras, they might have had a chance of winning that match.

Rooney will start against Italy, if he fails to impress again then Barkley will come in. IMHO

Very familiar with Honduras with them being in CONCACAF with the US. A thoroughly annoying team to play against, chippy, and borderline dirty, who would rather have you play down to their level than ever try to play up to yours.

The US beat a very solid Nigeria 2-1 just up the road in the same heat and humidity in Jacksonville. Jozy Altidore got a brace.

The US actually looked good, lol. And they went undefeated in their warm-up games. Michael Bradley looked world class against Nigeria. This means one thing...nothing, not a thing, nada, zero, zilch. England has a better chance of winning the whole thing than the US has just getting out of their group.

Was watching a bit of coverage of the Japan Vs Costa Rica game earlier. Japan were average but Costa Rica were shite! I'm starting to think England won't end up bottom of group D.

There's a couple of China Vs Macedonia friendlies coming up soon. They're bound to be good for a laugh.
