RG7Fan
3points Happy to have a stadium naming rights deal. SJM can have the West Stand named after him instead.

Thats one of the ways to stay within the FFP rules I would imagine ...

Derby signed a £7m 10 year deal last season, so it would add £700k to the coffers each season. It really is something that all clubs now need to consider, and not allow ego to get in the way.

I must admit it's quite refreshing to have some press information that's semi official, it just shows what a shit job Fordham did.

Keep it up Wattsy.

I hope that this chap isn't just a Baht billionaire - at 55 Bhats to the Pound that is less than 20 Million GBP.
Not the deep pockets we are looking for.
It would make an interesting alternative to the plastic payment system they tried out before in the stadium.

SPARTA Still hard to believe we may got this lucky. I'm fully expecting his name to be Som Fin-Wong.

I've heard it's a consortium led by Fuk Ray Ding.

apparently he has loved the club longtime

Tim Dellor ‏@TimDellor 10m

I'm told the Thai bid has an exclusivity deal - meaning no other potential buyers can negotiate to buy the club till Tues am earliest.

yes, those people who accept a club being sold without the owner staying the same are such shallow people.

new name

I believe sponsorship in team names is expressly forbidden by the FA, so no chance of that.

new strip
new colours

some might suggest these two are the same thing.

new stadium name

A new name wouldn't bother me too much, although I'd prefer to keep it as it is.

I don't think I'd carry on going if the club did become "Reading Red Bulls" although I don't think that is possible.

A complete kit redesign would also make me think twice, but this article, from a couple of months ago, suggests Red Bull aren't interested in buying an English club anyway.

The picture in that article looks eerily like the Madstad - maybe the blue seats attracted them to the club?

Personally I wouldn't have an issue with becoming Red Bull Reading if investment came with it - it's a renowned global brand and would raise the profile of the club immeasurably. Yes we have a history but we're hardly Man U or Arsenal in terms of pedigree. I would be annoyed if the hoops went but it wouldn't be a deal breaker for ongoing support. Our recent kits have been terrible in any case so a choice between some Puma rubbish template with hoops or a bespoke Adidas non-hooped kit might not be that difficult.
