We're tiring rather rapidly. Can see us conceding again rather than scoring.

Yep. lots of errors creeping in. Rooney's corner, Wilshire's pass behind Johnson, Johnson's cross.

So what's the spray for if a kick's not retaken after encroachment?

Get Rooney off...we'd be better off with ten men

What's with the endless string of sh't corners? Its like they've been watching reading. Go long ad infinitum. Would be nice for a corner to attack.

I like how everyone moves around so Rooney plays his preferred role. He's still sh't and its just made everyone else sh'tter

With a few minutes to go, regardless of the final score, this has been a hugely encouraging England performance with far more positives than negatives, against a very good Italian side. Play like this against Uruguay and Costa Rica and we will go through.

Sterling, Welbeck and Sturridge have been superb, with Sterling's ball to Rooney in the build up to the goal probably the highlight.

One of the better England World Cup games!!

Sadly he'll start in the next game too. He's been as disappointing as ever bar the cross for the goal, which Stirling really made in the first place. Several moves he's fluffed now. Although he's far from the only one to have made a silly mistake.

Agree on the corners, need a flatter trajectory.

TBF there aren't many teams better at defending in numbers to protect a one goal lead than Italy I guess.
