I'd go with this XI for tonight's game.

Hart

Baines
Cahill
Jagielka
Johnson

Welbeck
Lampard
Henderson
Sterling

Sturridge
Rooney

Out of interest, are the band not allowed in to the stadiums?

Rooney's got to go through the middle or not play, unless he can perform a hell of a lot better on the left than he did against Italy.

Wonder if we'll see Welbeck fill out the wide places, or Lallana. Stirling has to be guaranteed a start. Don't see any reason to do much to change the system or the rest of the team.

Maguire
Maguire No, but we'd need Italy to beat both Costa Rica and Uruguay and then beat Costa Rica ourselves.

Also, two wins don't necessarily see us through either.

If CR beat Italy and Italy beat Uruguay then GD could mean we go out after finishing level on 6 pts each.

It's done on the round-robin thing so, in the example, the Uruguay result would be stripped.

No, it's not. Goal difference in all matches comes first -see page 50 of:
http://resources.fifa.com/mm/document/tournament/competition/01/47/38/17/regulationsfwcbrazil2014_update_e_neutral.pdf

5. The ranking of each team in each group shall be determined as follows:
a) greatest number of points obtained in all group matches;
b) goal difference in all group matches;
c) greatest number of goals scored in all group matches.

If two or more teams are equal on the basis of the above three criteria, their
rankings shall be determined as follows:
d) greatest number of points obtained in the group matches between the
teams concerned;
e) goal difference resulting from the group matches between the teams
concerned;
f) greater number of goals scored in all group matches between the teams
concerned;
g) drawing of lots by the FIFA Organising Committee.

Anyone know anything about the broken glass in the studio behind Glen Hoddle? Javelin Paralympian 3 years early?

Went into the World Cup with low expectations and a desire to see some younger talent come through and show promise for the future. When it comes down to it though, I'm actually pretty nervous, thoroughly hooked and desperate for a win.

Come on England.

Bright start, but Uruguay look a threat to our defence. I'd like to see us use it a little more in midfield.
Scratch that, biggest improvement needed is at thrown ins. So slow and static. Well defended by Uruguay.
