Will95 Thought we had a good first half, but a terrible second. Sterling a star again.

MmmMonsterMunch I feel slightly bad that I don't give a flying fcuk that England are out.
I wish I didn't feel like this but I can't help it - I really don't care at all.

Avon RoyalOuroborosAvon Royal Pretty sure that if Cavani had flicked it on Suarez would have been offside............
So should Gerrard have left it on that basis?
No, he should have headed it clear like any decent player would have done.

jd82 At least this thread has reminded me not to read the team board for another year.

What did you think of Jagielka's defending?

davidstarkey Yeah you're right of course, the goals were well-taken by a world-class player (albeit a half-fit world-class player). Uruguay as a whole are nothing special at the moment though, nothing on their 2010-11 side and with a lot of players past their peak or not yet ready.

But they were better by some distance.

2 world wars, 1 world cup What a f**king disgrace and for once despite my other post about why ppl don't support England, I'm now beginning to see the light. Same old bullshit time and time again, so close so agonisingly close, yet so far. We dominated that match with chance after chance and Uruguay only had two decent chances but put both of them away.
Our defence is bloody horrific. I counted SIX England players in the box and Suarez was allowed to run through them like he didn't exist. He should've been tightly man marked but he waltzed past our joke of a damned defence to score a free header. And we lost it stupidly in midfield in the first place.
Rooney is woeful. Yes he finally scored (a tap in FFS) but once again hugely disappointing *as a striker*. Yes he does lots but when it matters, in the six yard box, in a world class World Cup game where you expect him to score he screws up again and again. The tap in would've been impossible to miss, but to be fair a conference player could get a tap in.
The fact of the matter simply is that English players are not good enoug technically. Players like that little racist buck toothed cheating shit Suarez, played with bare feet on dusty mud from the age of 5 and can run rings around spoiled chavs who are only good for the boring English game of hoofs and crosses from the wing. When do we ever cut through a defence with decent passing like South American teams do...
What an awful night for English football. A country of useless chavs. Thicker than foreigners in the classroom we're being told and crapper than foreigners on the pitch.
Rant over.
The only positive is that we can demolish Costa Rica, Italy should beat them too. And Uruguay on tonight's performance should be beaten by Italy too and we'll quite possibly escape the group anyway.

genomeLuis Suarez won the game for Uruguay almost single-handedly this evening - and he has had his say.
"I dreamt this," Suarez said.
"I'm enjoying this moment, because of all I suffered, the criticism I received. So, there you go."

leon I wouldn't describe Uruguay as totally average - afterall they have at least one world class player. England don't, didn't counter that and didn't deserve to win.
