howser Would be a good addition to the squad though

Just what we need - more squad-bloat-bilge. If you're not buying better than you've already got - stick 'wid da yoot'.

Surely you can't be certain how good a player is until they've been given a chance to prove themselves? Or is that too sensible?

Totally.
Half the morons on here are clueless.
The ball and goals are the same, so if he can kick it/ head it in in the scottish 3rd, he can do it at any level, assuming he can get up to speed with the other aspects. And he'd be free, what's the problem?

Other than it tying up a squad place that could go to bringing on a youth player, not to mention 3-odd years Championship wages? Why not sign all of the lower league players that are free and have scored goals?

The Scottish third == The Conference.

Jimbo Still, if he's half as good as a previous Little Reading player, then I'll be happy.

Agreed - I always loved Jay Tabb's workrate and contribution to the team. If this guy's half as good, sign him up!

Not that this would have happened, but nevertheless we shouldn't be dealing with those huns.
