Tough start, but the finish seems pretty ok.

I don't get this....you sure new years day is FA Cup weekend?

As in New Year's day is a Thursday two days before the FA Cup 3rd round. Because of this there are no New Year's day games in the championship but there is in the Premier League which I was saying will make them more likely to put out the reserves in the cup.

How stupid.....why would they do this

Just read this on the official site:
"If Reading are drawn against a Premier League side for the FA Cup third round (Saturday 3rd January), then the fixture will be moved to Sunday 4th January - as top flight sides, unlike those in the Football League, play on New Year's Day."

Well this is one of my favourite footballing weekends of the whole year shat all over. :(

I also notice there are six weeks between the FA Cup QFs and SFs so they could easily move the third round (and all subsequent rounds) back a week and everyone could play NYD.

There are no easy games in the championship and to predict who will win each week is a tough call.

Time though to get the monkey off our back with a win at the DW stadium!!

Unless the ownership saga is sorted very quickly, we will have a very weak squad at the start of next season. It is very likely that the likes of McCarthy, Gunter, McCleary etc will be pushing for moves as soon as they are back in training if there is no conclusion to the ownership saga. I certainly would if I was one of them.

I could see us losing the first 6 games quite easily and it will be very hard to recover from that. I don't want to be pessimistic, but I can only see a relegation fight on our hands next season unless things move vey quickly in the next three weeks or so.

What kind of clubs would you be looking to move to (if you were indeed one of them)?

Would you stay local, perhaps a Portsmouth, QPR or Swindon? Or would it be a case of "anywhere but here"?

Annoyed I will miss Reading vs Wolves in September as I'm away then. Also disappointing that Leeds at home is a Tuesday night again.

Book your hotel room now then - Wales play the All Black at the Millenium Stadium on the Saturday so the place will be packed and any rooms more expensive than usual.
