In an industry that has already gone up the creek due to the very thing most of us are using (the internet), the Chronicle had to do this to ensure they did not lose any more readers. With the potential boycott of the paper, it was either his job or the other 40 people that work for him. I personally think Gutteridge should go too, but thats noones place to say.

I bet the newspaper are now running on a loss as I am sure some companies have pulled their advertising. I spoke to some Liverpool fans who were really against the Reading Football Club due to this act of stupidity but a paper (the Thatcher scoreboard thing didnt help though I'm guessing), but this has since cooled when I explained that we dont even read this newspaper as its effectively toilet paper

Is anyone privy to circulation figures over at Berkshire Media Group?

Has this fiasco (can I call it that) had an affect on sales?

Slimy Chronic "journalist" Nick Gutteridge is obviously back in favour. He demanded a face-to-face interview with a manager at our office a couple of weeks ago, but refused to give an arrival time.
Needless to say he didn't turn up, didn't contact anyone to say he wasn't coming, and hasn't apologised since.

At least it meant he wasn't able to misquote anyone.

You're lucky your company wasn't exposed as being stapler wielding office bullies! Or maybe he already has enough on you to just hire an actor for a photograph and publish his breaking story.

Is pervy Maurice back, or did he take early retirement after being suspended?

You should be nominated for STAR Fan of the Year or something, a real selfless act.

Why on earth does anybody care what the Chronicle says. They carry a story today that Jem Karacan is back training only 3 days after it appeared on the OS. Not as good, however, as yesterdays story that Carrico had been sold to Seville. That was 6 days after it was on the OS.
Still, at least they are not making the stories up.

If Reading fans were as mouthy and gobby in real life as some are on Hobnob, you would have a real hooligan problem.
