I'd always thought that 'Touching Cloth' would be a great name for a wedding dress shop.

Needs to have a club that will take him first.

Ok, we can't afford him, but making him train with the reserve is pretty harsh on the guy.

I can only assume that he's on some massive appearance bonus as otherwise our behaviour doesn't make sense. I'm pretty sure we'd like Pog off our wage bill as well but we haven't been shunning him. Why wouldn't you put Drenthe in the shop window whilst we're paying his wages anyway?

I don't think putting him in the "shop window" will help our chances of moving him on.

We need to be selling him on his name and former reputation rather than his performances now.

Saddened and dismayed, but not surprised. I can honestly say that never have I wanted a high profile player to succeed at Reading than I did this man, but sadly it seems all the hyperbole surrounding the signing was just that. I hoped beyond all reasonable levels that he was going to do for us what he had shown glimpses of doing for Feyenoord and Holland, ripping teams apart but sadly it just never happened. So much ability, so little application, so much disrespect for management.

If its trouble your talking about off the pitch then understandable but still harsh. But if its performance's on the pitch your talking about its very harsh as I'm sure he wanted to perform for us

Not surprised to hear he'll be off, but surprised to see that he's been left behind already - would have thought they'd wait till they had something concrete before entirely alienating him incase we're stuck with. Saying that, potentially this is an indicator of him being a hugely disruptive presence?

Royal Lady 1. Wouldn't bother me as I work for Schards
2. I'm not employed as a professional sportsperson.

But you do sound sloshed most of the time.....

It's in my contract I can't start drinking in the office until it's gone 12 noon.

If there's nothing in your contract saying when you stop that means you can drink until 11.59 the next morning.

Must be behind doors stuff going on. He's not delivered a thing, but he's clearly got talent and he's shown glimpses of it in matches.

Fuk knows what we're paying him. it certainly puts Pog in a better light and he's hardly a value signing by any measure.

could have been awesome. massive let down.

The potential he showed when at Feyenoord in 06/07 when he was arguably their best player that season, certainly their equivalent of our Jordan Obita this year (along with Georginho Wijnaldum), then the Dutch U21 player that was a first choice full back in the 2007 U21 European Chhampionship winning side, and the ability to seal a multi-million euro move to Real Madrid. He may not have been up to their standard, ultimately we'll never know if he really was because he p*ssed his opportunity up the wall there.

Care for more detail? Ok, I saw this man play for Feyenoord the day after our 3-1 win at Bolton in April 2007. Ok, it was only one game, but he was the standout player for me at left back in a team that included Wijnaldum, Vlaar, De Guzman and Van Hooijdonk. I watched the same man on the tellybox in the Dutch U21's that same year, he was the standout player again. Sadly, you can have all the ability in the world but if you don't apply yourself and allow the hype to go to your head then you'll never make it at elite level. He clearly has ability mate. He just doesn't have the attitude or application to complement it.

What was his build like then? I know he's not fat now, but is he much larger than he was then?

Much "slimmer", more Jordan Obita like just without the height.
