I'm going to refrain from conspiracy theories, but it's not good to see another terrible refereeing performance in Brazil's favour and it only makes me more keen for Germany to do them in the semi finals.

Whore Jackie Too stop-start for my liking. Been looking forward to both of these QFs and quite frankly they've, in the main, been shite.

The game on now is an absolute belter! I cant help but think if you dont like this then you basically just dont like football much

Then I don't like football much.

Frustrating, irritating, dirty, poorly officiated - you can keep that as far as I'm concerned.

Brazil are so average! Big Phil got away with playing like this in 2002 because he had Ronaldo, Rivaldo and Ronaldinho up front. That Brazil team were by no means a vintage side, but they were waayyy better than this one. When Neymar goes missing (as he did last night and obviously will for the rest of W/Cup) they have nothing. Fred is just Keith Scott in a Brazil shirt. Hulk is wasted out wide, especially with Fred doing the square root of o*f*rd-all up top. I feel for Oscar because we've seen for Chelsea this season that he can play, but he is being shoved around to make room for the aforementioned 3. Drop Fred, stick Hulk up-top and Oscar behind him for s/final.....although I want Germany to win the whole thing now!! Netherlands Germany final would suit me very well!!

Sounds like a very serious injury and although I wish that on no one, I am glad he is out of the tournament. They will be missing Thiago Silva in the next game too. Hopefully with a fair ref they will be knocked out by the Germans. Never have I disliked a team more than this Brazil.

Bloody 'ell. With Neymar out of the tournament and Silva out of the semi the refs are really going to have to step up and be counted for the rest of Brazil's matches.

Can see Howard Webb refereeing this one!

Brazil did play an awful better than their previous matches and stopped Columbia playing.

Lol at James getting booked for his one and only late challenge whilst other blatant bookings were just let go.

They will miss Silva and Neymar, but they have a pretty decent Dante to cover as centre half and this might give Oscar a better role than he has currently which seems to be covering Marcello for most of the match.

If Germany can keep France out they can also keep Brazil out with or without Neymar.

Don't get the Brazil h8. Certainly hope they beat Germany, who were back to their old unexciting selves yesterday.

It's been a gr8 WC on the whole. Agreed that Chile and Colombia have more than played their part.

Germany are boring but Brazil are talentless thugs, don't want either to win.

They grind out a 1:0 against a tournament favourite who CBA and they're boring now?

Maybe you didn't watch Germany in the group stage.

David Luiz is increasingly doing for Brazil in 2014 what Cannavaro did for Italy in 2006. Big Phil just hasn't got the talent to approach the games in an attacking flair way, so hustle and bustle is the primary tactic.

France? I wasn't aware that they were a tournament favourite.

Grind is the word that best describes Germany. Workmanlike, scraping through but never ever exciting.

Bar thrashing Portugal 4-0 and having one of the most exciting games in the WC to date against Ghana. Even the Algergia game was cracking even tho it was 0-0 after 90

The 'flair' teams have largely disappointed this WC. There have been enough great moments to fill the showboat reels, and some cracking goals but we really need(ed) the likes of Brazil and Argentina to light it up. The entertainment has come from the likes of Costa Rica, Columbia, Iran and Algeria.

The group stages were great, maybe the best I can remember, but knockout football seems to bring the worst out in everybody. Some of the 'football' yesterday was as cynical as I've ever seen.

The Germans are great (ruthlessly efficient) at tournament football - grudgingly I'd like to see them go on and win it (unless it's Belgium who I got in the office sweep - let's hope they do the Argies tonight)

Portugal just didn't show up, Ghana threw everything at them and came away with a deserved draw and Algeria were the exciting team in that match.
