In theory, yes, but Madrid offer new contracts to a lot of their players.

The key is what contract they offer and that's what determines how highly they rate someone.

My guess is that Khedira is in the lower tier of wages and that he thinks he deserves more whilst they feel he's not worth it and the loss of his wage is worth it if they can put the money into the Kroos deal.

I like the look of this Chambers - good signing

Can't work out if Arsenal were superb or Man City were poor, maybe a bit of both

Anyway first bit of silverware won for the Gunners this season

I liked Chambers too, and Ramsey was great again. Man City looked a week behind in their training: they'll peak next week, when it matters more, I suppose.

They had a defense composed entirely of full backs for 1/4 of the game. Think city were poor. Arsenal were very good going forward though tbf

The defence in the whole 2nd half was made up of full backs  - so i'm guessing City were shite

Yeah, Chambers bossed it. Frightening how much depth Arsenal have in midfield at the moment.

arsenal looked great imo, quick one touch passing style, fantastic on the break, lots of quality in the midfield, and when giroud came on they took a lot of decent chances. their defense looked very strong too. this could be arsenals year. im still hoping they can bring in marco reus.

Arsenal players always raise their game against City as essentially they are auditioning

Seems odd making Arteta Captain when the chances are that, like his predecessor, he'll be largely absent from the starting XI.

Will he though? He's played 30+ league games in each of his 3 seasons for Arsenal.

Most Arsenal fans I know were baying for it to be given to Mertesacker. Arteta plays plenty but chances are he'll be released at the end of the season and thus they'll lose another captain. They've sold three captains to Barcelona alone in recent times.

Unless they sign a defensive midfielder then he will play most weeks....

Arteta has been playing as a DM or at the least a CM that remains disciplined. If they do sign Carvalho (sp?) i can't see Arteta playing too much.

But they haven't signed him so as I said he will play most weeks :D

Can't strip him of the captaincy cos of that.
