DaveBanana If the entire board is staying on but with additional members does that not mean CS and co are still here? Or just SJMs half of the board? AHHH!

No, because CS isn't on the board, so he can't stay on..

urz_1871 Fordham & Watts are saying takeover will be completed today. Samrit is on his way over from Thailand.

The EP OS currently says...

Samrit Bunditkitsada's takeover at Reading FC is due to be finalised today.

The 39-year-old's Thai consortium have agreed to pay around £26 million to buy a 90 per cent stake in the club.

The deal was in the balance yesterday after Vibrac, the lending company effectively in control of Reading, demanded the Thais paid their legal fees.

But after talks which stretched late into the evening last night, a breakthrough was reached.

A board meeting is being held this morning at the Madejski Stadium.

All the current directors at Reading are expected to remain at the club once the takeover is finalised, with three new Thai directors added, including Bunditkitsada.

He has been in Thailand this week as talks have progressed between lawyers but is now due to fly in to the country.

Elmer Park I think word must have got out that Samrit is arriving by train. Crowds gathering at the station and there are a lot of police about.

EDIT - I've just heard it may not be Samrit who is coming to the station. It's the mysterious elderly rich lady.

You sure? The crowd seems to be chanting 'Up the Royals!' Can only mean one thing, shirley.

Cue a rush of "I told you so" from people who didn't tell us anything.

And a distinct lack of anything from all the people who said it wasn't happening or called shambles. Assuming it does finally happen.

If Samrit is flying in today on flight TG 916, it isn't due to land until 19:02 this evening!

I've just heard there's a bit of a crowd gathering at the stadium and security men wearing hi-vis jackets are literally having to pull people out of the bushes by their ankles.

As a side note, all the faffing has been a nightmare, but from a PR point of view it's going to look pretty cool back in Thailand that Samrit has purchased the Royals the day the Queens chilling out round the corner, good for branding and all that.

Current board is Madejski, Howe, IWS another Ian Smith and Madejskis daughters.

Samuelson & Co. got kicked out ages ago.

Not quite. There's the club board which is Madj, Howe and IWS. Then there's the holding company board, which includes them plus IS and mini ms madjes.

Surely SJM won't still be on the board if he's being bought out? I can understand keeping IWS on, though not necessarily NHowe, and maybe Bryan Stabler for a bit as Financial Director until Samrit and co bring in their own people.

unless he retains a 10% share as suggested.
