Disappointed the club didn't go with my suggestion of Raining Blood by Slayer.

I know I'm biased but it really should be this.

MmmMonsterMunch
P!ssed Off Embrace - Ashes my choice.
Love it, and get a bit excited whenever I hear it.

Don't associate Sweet Caroline massively with the football.

Sweet Caroline should be the obvious choice.

That Embrace song is so fcuking ghey. I hate it. I just checked on You Tube to see if it was as ghey as I remembered & it is.

Sweet Caroline is a proper, feel good classic.

Plus people can sing it which is a huge factor - you can't sing Embrace.

h8 every word of this

apart from the utterly true last line.

as long as it gets played just before the actual anthem im happy.

Of the choices given Sweet Caroline is the only one that stands a chance of being our Delilah/Greasy Chip Butty/YNMA but be honest - outside of the chorus

Sweeeeeet Caroline Der Der Der

do you know the words?

It'll die a death.

Oh, and the correct answer is Terry and June

As I recall they go something like

Sweeeeeet Caroline. Der Der Der
rhubarb rhubarb rhubarb
murmer murmer murmer

How about 'Radioactive' by Imagine Dragons? Everyone could leave singing the chorus. Would tie in quite well with the ground being built on a bed of deadly gas.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4U8C_XuE7wc

As everyone is leaving they could all be going: 'Whoooaaa-aaa-whooo-aa-aa-uh-oh, radioactive, radioactive.'

I really think this could work.

Norfolk Royal by Imagine Dragons

OUT.....on this basis.

I think that choosing a jolly tune to be played over the tannoy for precisely no-one to join in with should be very low down the list of concerns for RFC fans at this time tbh :|

Alan Partridge It's not even in question

Hands, touching hands
Touching me, Touching youuuuuuuuuuuuu
Sweeeeeeeeet Caroline
good times never felt so good
I feel inclined, to believe they never would......

8) 8) 8)

Neil Diamond basically admits to wonking before fingering her;
Touching me, touching you...
Until there's a proper south bank style terrace, the atmos and songs will always be drag and shet compared to northern teams. Having said that, the band are sometimes quite good. Better than the boring 0-0 footie anyway.

We all know there's only one real choice for Reading FC Anthem. It's a travesty it's not on the list.

But in all seriousness. Should check out Violet Class's 14/15 Anthem.

+1.

It's like the club isn't in financial difficulty and everything is dandy.

The question shouldn't be "which should we play?", but "in what order should we play all three songs?"

IMO Sweet Caroline -> Ashes (complete with "highlights" video with Le Fondre carefully cropped out) -> Royals Anthem

I loved that! If you ever re-do it, please add Jobi's 'Are we up?' moment.

I would genuinely prefer the first option, how dreary is that second one?!

The Boys Are Back In Town - brilliant song and quite apt at home games.
