Far too slow.

This firstly prevent it from sounding any good and secondly mean the fans will get bored of it and give up.

I could hear a crowd sing the chorus of Ashes, plus it would be unique.

Nameless
Royal Biscuitman My preferences

As the players come out - Lux Anterna

At the final whistle, perhaps only after a win - Sweet Caroline or possibly Congratulations

When we score a goal - Nothing... unless the fans start singing spontaneously, prior to the drummer killing it off with a bang bang bang. At a push, Tom Hark.

Half time - Ashes - Embrace, Sweet Caroline, Royals Anthem, Daydream believer, You were Always on my mind

Pre-Match build up, just before the players come out - You were Always on my Mind

So that's all the stuff they have been playing for years then.....

No, they play some crap mix tape before the game/half time with things like Party rocking by LMAO and other songs merged together.

I actually found Lux Anterna inspiring, particularly with a suitably edited video on the big screen..... but I guess they may struggle to make one from last seasons highlights.

The March from Things to Come wouldn't be bad but of the three offered it has to be the Neil Diamond option. Perhaps we could get him over to perform it at half time one game

s ever, the club are attempting to drive through something that will only ever work if it is spontaneously fan driven. This will fail.

If I had my choice, then Amazing Grace would be my no.1. popular, well known, easy to remember, and I think would sound great in any ground. No surprises for guessing my current favourite football club fan-adopted anthem - The Lord's My Shepherd, as sung by West Brom fans.

No harm in asking fans which song to play, but if they back the boys and shout into the microphone chap gets involved in it with his "and here's our club anthem" and "words are on the screen" then I will lower my head in shame.

MmmMonsterMunch LOL @ Ashes being an anthem. Rock music for Waitrose shoppers.

.......Oh hang on a minute

Sweet Caroline is the only one that people can sing along to & you know it.

LOL @ the idea that many people will sing along whatever is picked. Really don't get the obsession with Sweet Caroline.

I went with the genuine RFC anthem + nostalgia vote.

MmmMonsterMunch Anyone who votes anything other than Sweet Caroline needs to have a word with themselves.

Very pleased about this as when they did the fans' survey last season I said we need Sweet Caroline as an anthem & they obviously took notice

Not enough :| for Embrace. I fcuking hope that isn't chosen.

u have issues

sweet caroline was the players song of 05/06 not ours.

ashes was ours.

none of them will work, cos no one sings anything any more,
and it needs to grow organically, not be voted on.

think ill vote girlder, as it makes me lol

Silver Fox Terry and June >> Girdler >>>>>> Ashes >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Sweet Caroline

So, are you saying that Terry and June leads to Girdler and then on to Ashes which has a long route on to Sweet Caroline?

Errrrr, no

No ? But all the things you've listed are just the stuff they have used in the past. Nothing new, original or interesting. I'd go for Mouldy Old Dough if we're picking something used before, although by preference I'd sabotage the PA and do away with music full stop.... It's unnecessary and no one really 'likes' any of it, we're just coming up with the least worst option.

As long as they give us song sheets for the selected song then I don't mind what it is

How can you not like this

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8t2DdseYwrk

It was cracking during the Elm Park days with crackly speakers and a pissed up southbank trying to mumble along and the north stand all clapping their leather gloves together

"Na na na na na na na na na na na na na....."

P!ssed Off Oxford definition of 'anthem' is:
A rousing or uplifting song identified with a particular group, body, or cause

If that's the definition of an 'anthem' how comes we got lumbered with 'God Save the Queen' as our national 'anthem'? Surely the least rousing and uplifting song ever!

Approach it the right way and it's plenty uplifting. Sing anything in a mumbling dirge and it isn't.
