handbags_harrisBig Foothandbags_harris So much ability
Based on?
The potential he showed when at Feyenoord in 06/07 when he was arguably their best player that season, certainly their equivalent of our Jordan Obita this year (along with Georginho Wijnaldum), then the Dutch U21 player that was a first choice full back in the 2007 U21 European Chhampionship winning side, and the ability to seal a multi-million euro move to Real Madrid. He may not have been up to their standard, ultimately we'll never know if he really was because he p*ssed his opportunity up the wall there.
Care for more detail? Ok, I saw this man play for Feyenoord the day after our 3-1 win at Bolton in April 2007. Ok, it was only one game, but he was the standout player for me at left back in a team that included Wijnaldum, Vlaar, De Guzman and Van Hooijdonk. I watched the same man on the tellybox in the Dutch U21's that same year, he was the standout player again. Sadly, you can have all the ability in the world but if you don't apply yourself and allow the hype to go to your head then you'll never make it at elite level. He clearly has ability mate. He just doesn't have the attitude or application to complement it.

No, I imagine he will blame everyone else.... however, unlike our last big unfulfilled talent, James Lambert, He's at least picked up decent money along the way so that will keep him in the party lifestyle a little longer.Gordons Cumming One day he'll regret his wasteful attitude.
Quite sad really..............sort of.

Royal Ginger We don't know what he's like. If some of rumours are true and he's missing training, drinking before games and having bust-ups with players and management i think it's fair enough. His presence may be toxic and more detrimental to the squad then being a bit thin on the ground.
Most of us will have worked in a team with a bad egg (if you haven't it's probably you) and will know how disruptive and adversely productive it can be.

If that's the case then maybe they're waiting to see if they find a buyer, and if not then they'll cancel his contract and regard one of the above mentioned problems as 'breach of contract' ?

From Despair To Where? Did Le Fondre disagree with McDermott as well, because he didn't get many starts with him either.
