Not trying to obscure anything ta. We weren't the best team. We weren't even the 3rd best team. Fate, luck, stars aligning, freak occurence whatever you wish to call it helped us to do it. Sometimes strange things happen & us winning the league was bloody strange & unexpected.

Someone saying "I deal in facts and the results say we were the 2nd best team in the league" when we won it is pretty

Sorry, the first bit is toss. I could buy second or maybe third best... all it would take for that would be a creative reversal in one game against one of the other two. But even if we'd had four wins reversed to loses we'd have still finished above Birmingham. Brum were firmly in the trailing three of them, Blackpool and Cardiff.

The second bit is spot on to be fair though.

We'll agree to disagree on that then. Brum were hampered by a long Europa league campaign - had it not been for that they would have finished a lot higher.

We won so many games where we got completely spanked for almost all the entire 90 mins & then we'd pop up with one chance & bang 3 points. Yes that happens in football but we did it nearly every week. We had our fair share of luck & then some.

If you do something every week, it's because you've worked at it, you don't fluke it. Boo fooking hoo for Birmingham. They failed to cope with the demands of their season and they finished where they deserved because of it.

Not saying I feel sorry for them just saying that IMO they were a better team than us.

We must have been one of the weakest squads ever in terms of footballing ability (and even managerial ability to a certain extent) to win the championship title & nothing you post will make me think otherwise.

What has happened since largely backs that up as well as it's generally been utter sh1t.

We were the best team. Others had better individuals, which is where MonsterMoobs is getting confused and why the two who went up with us were better equipped for PL football the following season but the best team was us.

Do you mean on the very left (our left)? If so, who's the guy on the other end?

It strikes me that the mad man is not the sort of bloke who likes being told what to do and he looks to be cringeing at now being the junior partner (both in ownership and age).
Or, is he thinking...was it really you that did the massage all those years ago?

Something about a merger with a little unknown club called Oxford.

The epitome of shady background characters. (Taller one Nick Hammond?) They couldn't have done much more to make it look like a super-villain's subterranean lair without armed guards.
