Royal Lady They could have ended his contract earlier than this if they'd wanted to.

We've not had the money to do that.

Royal Lady There have always been "problem" players - sometimes, they just need a little guidance from their manager, someone to watch over them and ensure they don't get into trouble outside of the game. We failed to do that with Royston and with a bit of nurturing and care, he may have turned out to be the player for us that we all hoped for, and needed.

There hasn't been a manager able to do that with Royston so far, so.....

If he's missing training etc. surely there's a point where we can cancel it on breach of contract?

He was told to train with the U21's according to instagram, not sure if that's still the case

From last weeks podcast with Charlie Watts he's still training away from the first team and it's clearly improved the mood within the group.

His attitude caused a lot of problems in training last season. Him and Pearcey had a "bust up" at one point. Good that he's away from the group.

Him and Danny Williams used to be best buds, I haven't seen anything on social media from those two together for a good few months...

Royston Drenthe – of one time Real Madrid and Everton fame – gave fans a pre-season treat by inviting them round to his house for a game of Fifa 14.

The Reading winger put a shout out on his Instagram account calling for local supporters to register their interest in an impromptu Fifa tournament.

The Dutchman, 27, then randomly selected a handful of fans and documented the proceedings of the main event via a series of pictures and videos through his social network page.

already been mentioned but i thought i would post the article

They don't say who won, or how well Dernthe did?

I still reckon the problem is the same as I alluded to earlier on this thread, why else would Harte have lost his rag in the way he did?

I believe the winner (last picture) was given £300 and a signed shirt by Drenthe.

Many managers have tried and failed to get him to play to his full potential.
He is TROUBLE, has been everywhere he has been, Anton was captivated by the hype.
Why do people think that Nigel should be anymore successful than Mourinho, Moyes etc?

Just hope the Thai´s keep their feet on the ground and leave Nigel to manage, he´s forgotten
more about football than they will ever know.

This is always the problem when non football people start buying players, selecting teams
because they think they know more about football than the manager. Anton was a young spoilt
brat who was given money by Daddy and he, Anton, thought he knew all about football, the results of
his tenure are clear to see.

Let´s forget about Drenthe he is a waster, who managed to get a good pay day out of a very naive owner.
We have the basis to be a very sound club, great ground, great manager and youth team manager,
great youth set up. We do need to sign a good centre forward, the Pog is probably good for 12 goals
a season, Edwards is too lightweight and inexperienced. We need cover for Obita at left back and
a couple of good experienced centre halves, someone like Gorks but better. Anton Ferdinand , no please
we have enough injuries already without signing another sick note. Pearce and Morrison just doesn´t work,
they are both slow and have the turning circle of an oil tanker.

Also with regard to injuries, is it back luck? Is there something wrong with our training methods? I don´t
know but we do seem to have more than an average level of injuries. I fear Williams is always
going to have be a problem with injuries , he wasn´t really fit when we signed him. Jem has had two serious injuries in
a couple of years. The rest we will see.

I am quietly confident that if we sign 3 or 4 players we can have a good season. As the team is now we will
have a relegation battle on our hands, we can´t expect 18-20 year old to manage the jump from the level
they were playing in last season to Championship level overnight , one or two might as Obita did last season.
Expecting 4 or 5 to do it is too much.

If we put out the team that started against Swansea , we will lose by 3 or 4 goals at Wigan on Saturday.
I know they are a good side but we could just as easily lost 5 or 6-1, with the missed penalty, great saves by our goalies
and the woodwork.

I am not completely pessimistic , with a couple of Nigel Atkin´s type players, not Billy Sharpe though, we can have
a really good season.

Good call.

Anyway, I feel sorry for Royston a little bit - it's not like he didn't have previous - AZ has a fooking lot to answer for. Not surprised if Royston isn't keen on Adkins though.

He should learn to behave then.Always late for training, sometimes not turning up and disrupting the session
when he attended.Well done to Atkins for kicking him in to touch.
