Isaac Hunt
melonhead was shit when he was here before
- was never given a chance

melonhead been universally shit to average everywhere since then.
- not true

melonhead would be shit if he came here again
- what are this evening's winning Euro Millions numbers?

cos he was shit. as has been proven since.
being good for one season, in a lower league = shit to average
i base it purely on the fact he's always been shit- and due to this it is highly unlikely that he will suddenly become brilliant.

Scored one brilliant goal for Swindon from what I remember.

He's your typical lower division one season wonder. A club in the Championship always ends up taking a punt on them, they end up not being so good after all and spend most of their career bouncing around between the bottom half of tier 2 and the top half of tier 3

Or in Simon Cox's case, the bottom half of Tier 1 and the top half of Tier 2.

I know he's an Irish international but, lets be honest, for a country with Robbie Keane, Kevin Doyle, Shane Long, and Jonathan Walters at their disposal, how the oxf*rd has he got 30 caps?

Yes, it's a rhetorical question and the answer is - Trapatoni is a clueless idiot

Apparently already agreed a deal for Cox.

Reading are closing in a triple swoop for defender Anton Ferdinand and forwards Simon Cox and Glenn Murray. The Berkshire side have agreed a 600k fee with Nottingham Forest for Simon Cox and the deal is expected to be completed in the coming days subject to personal terms and a medical.

so would anyone with legs

that said- would i take him as a 4th choice striker here, at this level, today?
yeah, go on then

and to be fair, he would be doing me a favour, cos i have an 06/07 away top i cant use cos its got a Cox autograph across it, and id be marginally more likely to wear it for 5 aside if he came back

Sky Sports understands this might be happening

Sky Sports understands Reading are in talks to sign Nottingham Forest striker Simon Cox. Cox has been given permission to travel to Reading to hold talks with the club about a possible move to the Madejski Stadium.

My general rule of thumb is that if Sky Sports say it, it probably isn't true. Hence I am edging towards this not happening now

unlike our current striking options....

I agree with you that I'd like to see someone more exciting than Cox. He didn't push on as expected after his time at Swindon...but i've always thought he looked a decent player. I'd have him ahead of HRK every day of the week.
