Happy with Cox but would prefer Billy Sharp to Mackie.

I'd prefer mackie over sharp, mackie has more pace and just has more about him than sharp, however sharp is probably the better finisher

Plus Mackie plays on the wing, so fills a massive hole left by GMc's injury

Mackie is the most exciting link so far for me. Better than all the other forwards we've been linked to and has the pace and work rate to cause all teams problems.

Would be delighted with this. Who would that leave Forest with upfront?

Ian Royal Always liked Mackie. Getting on a bit now though isn't he? Definitelty a trier though.

He's 28, should be in his 'prime'.

Ooo. Yes please!

Most exciting prospect out of him, Ferdinand, Cox, Sharp or Murray!

Not sure why you say that.. Mackie is just a hard worker.. Cox has real footballing ability and is younger.. Also one of our own !

Forest fans seem fairly mixed on Mackie going and not at all fussed about Cox.

Because Mackie works hard for the team, has bags of experience and always delivers. He's not primarily there for goals, but he chips in a fair few. Cox on the other hand has potential, but has gone nowhere fast over the last few years and won't bring nearly as much to the side as Mackie if he isn't scoring. Which he hasn't been.

And Mackie has impressed me every single time I've seen him play.

Mackie for £1m, Sharp on a free or Murray for £3m? I think I'd rather have Mackie.

I also think Cox is an excellent 3rd option

Would hope Mackie could be got for less than that.

One Notts fan tweeted Mackie is a pain for defenders, works hard, has pace but his final ball lets him down. Surely that could be worked on with the right coaching. Sounds like a typical Reading signing.
