Sounds as though Mackie would come on loan initially.

Ian Royal
From Despair To Where? Mackie for £1m, Sharp on a free or Murray for £3m? I think I'd rather have Mackie.

I also think Cox is an excellent 3rd option

Would hope Mackie could be got for less than that.

I think it's £1m total for the pair.

Rob Dorsett ‏@Dorselator 3m
Sky sources: Simon Cox and Jamie Mackie both leaving #nffc bound for #Readingfc. Cox will have 2nd medical tmrw. Mackie is season's loan.

Yes please for Mackie, not sure on Cox unless it is a cheap transfer sum

Hopefully the loan on Mackie is a 'with a view to permanent', I really rate him.

I think Mackie might be the one to fill the Jobi shaped hole in my heart.

I did see that tweeted somewhere but another inferred it was to cover GMacs absence.. However if it turns out to be a year long loan and assuming it covers the play-off period just in case, it won't make a great deal of difference.

Why would Simon Cox need a second medical? Is that normal?

Would be chuffed about Mackie - I really rate him.

Mackie & Sharp would be great. Cox can stay at Forest...

This.

Big fan of Jamie Mackie, he's basically Jobi but with a little more footballing ability. Hope it ends up a permanent deal.

Not sure about that. I'd say he's Jobi, just harder and more likely to score, but with less flair. Less of a confidence player as well.

Tbh think Cox and Mackie are both decent signings but neither are exactly 20 goal a season strikers at this level and neither is Pog so struggle to see who is going to fill the Le Fondre void.

Not long ago we didnt know if we'd be going into administration, then whether or not we'd have a chance to bring players in before January - aside from the lack of time for pre-season integration, I'd be more than happy to see these go through, and seem much more like "Adkins" signings than anything else, which has to be a good thing.

Because Le Fondre always scored over 20 goals per season...

I think the main issue is that neither of them are 10+ strikers
