multisync1830 Hoop Blah No idea what point you're trying to make about the ins and outs of the Terry incident. All I've said is that since then he looks to have struggled more and more after, whatever you think about living off his brothers name, was a very promising start to a young defenders career.
The point being is the 'incident' is not relevant in any way shape or form. It's strawman at best.
He was before that already on the way down from your 'very promising start' to distinctly average at best.He is now at the point whereby he's wanted by um err a Thailand club and by now -and only by association- RFC. That isn't a good enough reason IMHO.
Ferdinand was, for all his time at West Ham and Sunderland, a pretty decent mid-table Premier League defender who played pretty much every week for both teams. I'd argue he didn't quite live up to some of his early promise yes, but I wouldn't agree his career was on a constant downward spiral. I'm also not suggesting the Terry incident ended him, but I can see a scenario where the fall out towards the end of that season just distracted or disillusioned him enough to lose a vital percentage or two from his performances that proved costly. You do hear of players 'falling out of love' with the game.
His career tailed off from consistantly performing for mid-table sides to not being able to hold down a place at QPR. It may well be a coincidence or he just got found out, it's just quite early in a defenders career to suffer that kind of fate.
multisync1830 If that's your level for the club going forward so be it. Please don't be offended if I don't join you
You seem to be looking for an argument where one doesn't exist. I've said all along I don't think he'd make a good addition to the squad!
