M Brook
mambo3 Has anyone worked out why Forest sold him to Reading. he has scored less goals then pog? they don't need the money.

Squad too big?
Cloth cutting?
Mad Chairman?
FFP?

They'll cope, even if we sign both Mackie and Cox, they'll still have more forwards than us.

Royal Lady We missed a real opportunity to have Cox and Long up front imo.

Maybe so, but the Irish didn't...

Who Moved The Goalposts?
Royal Lady We sold him for £200k and buying him back for £600k, great business. I always liked him as a player and his game against Spurs in the cup he was on fire - we should never have let him go in the first place imo, as I stated at the time. Whether he can now still do a job for us, I'm not so sure.

You conveniently forget that we got and additional £600k in sell-on fees when Swindon sold him to West Brom. That kind of puts us £200k up on the deal plus we get him back (not that you can really square the finances that way, but you get the point).

And we haven't had to pay his wages. £££££ ding.

Why would forest care that he has scored less goals than a striker at a club they are selling him to?

No but we should!

SPARTA Forest press claiming he's having a second medical today and Mackie bunged a lift down with him to complete a season loan. Happy with both!

What happened with the 1st medical?

IN for this. Like him a lot at this level. Clever forward who should fit the Adkins style quite nicely. Hopefully the homecoming should give his career the nudge in the right direction that it seems to need.

A nudge? A push off a cliff, any seasoned footballer sold for 600K especially a British Player who's price is usually over inflated must ba SHITE

soggy biscuit never watched Mackie much but always had him down as your classic hard working headless chicken type.

Thick pundits will all praise his 'great engine' and solid work rate while ignoring that when he gets in a good position he more often than not spoons it into the crowd or makes a terrible choice in passing

And thick supporters will underestimate the effect having a hard worker in the team can have.

Presuming he signs, will Simon Cox have taken the most roundabout route from our Academy to the RFC first team ?

No, because he played for the first team while he was here last time.

Do you think the Forest fan realises we possibly know Cox better than he does....

Will play just behind the main striker, something we've been lacking for a while.

Wouldn't just assess him on the goals he scores.
