With our current injury list, I'd rather not be risking too many first teamers. I'd play the U21s (as a majority) and chalk it up as a learning experience for them, win or lose.

More realistic would be Long, Taylor, Akpan and Sweeney in. More realistic again would see Cummings and Blackman play, but I don't want to risk either of them.

As above, Adkins suggested it'll be McCarthy tomorrow - I'd have thought if he was planning a second string game then we'd go Anderson, and given the level of youth we're expecting in the team this year I can only see it as a first team affair just to give them any extra playing time together he can. On top of that, asides Cox the new recruits aren't match ready, and as the first competitive home-game the new owners will be at, so you have to wonder if the team are quite conscious of scrutiny.

If Adkins want to blend the team in he should go with the same team that started at Wigan.

Very much doubt that will be the case as McCarthy and Cox will both start.

i would also like to see Kuhl and Guthrie play in midfield together.
