RUMOUR - Hogan Ephraim

by royalgrumpy » 11 Aug 2014 23:06

Apparently in talks with us, if you can believe the Daily Mail. He looked a decent player for QPR, once upon a time. Now a free after a loan at P'Boro last season.

Anticipating the twatter meltdown at being linked with another free transfer, and calls for more investment by the same old idiots that expect tens of millions to be spent on players this summer.

Literally never heard of him, which is weird as he's played nearly 100 games for the super hoops.

There might be something in this rumour. In the interview he mentions Anton as his mentor, also watching utube clips of him playing for QPR he links up well with Mackie. Could be decent on a free.

Will put on record that I think this would be a crap signing.

His league record over the last three years:
2013/2014: 8 appearances in League 1
2012/2013: 11 MLS appearances
2011/12: 2 sub appearances in the Premier League, 5 appearances in the Championship and 5 appearances in League 1

31 league games in 3 years.

Yeh, doesn't look great, but sounds like he was a big part of QPR's previous promotion campaign. Only 26, and fits into Nige's recruitment strategy of experienced Championship players with something to prove. Cheap as well, obvs.

Always thought he looked like a very tidy footballer when I saw him play. Quite skillful, pacey, and plays on the left cutting in on his right foot so might fill the gap left by Jobi.

Saying that though, it appears his career has dropped off the edge of a cliff so not going to get too excited by this one...but happy to give him a chance.

Hopefully it's just a case of him getting bombed of by QPR when all the mercenaries signed, rather than him suddenly becoming shit or crocked.

My overriding feeling whenever I've seen him is "flatters to deceive".

He looks like he should be a good player but somehow isn't.

This could well be true, I'm a sucker for a good stepover.

Most influence I've ever seen him have on a game was when he was sent off at the mad stad for a late tackle.

I think the three signings we have made so far all improve the squad and are decent acquisitions for only a small outlay. However I just don't see the point of this one so hopefully is just made up bollocks.

Cover for McCleary's injury? Six month loan would suit more I would think than a contract.

Three month contract then.

Edit: The whole thing's rubbish though.
