Ascot United 0-3 Bracknell Town - good win in front of over 100 for the Robins up against another strongly fancied side - nowhere near as big as the record crowd for this same fixture last year on the same w/e I think - but I expect the weather kept a lot of people indoors.

- our match number ii) - Dodged the Festival hordes by M4-A34 route but sadly the Poxford Ring Road was utterley kfucked from N'HInksey round to A34 N and beyond. - Had to pick out elaborate twisty alternative up around Summertown/Bletchingdon and got there 20 mins late.
'Heathens' already 2-0 up and never released their grip on the game. Dan Rapley erstwhile Binfield wide-man was on fire for the visitors - scored two. Flackwell have opened up a bit of a gap at the top and the immediate chasers aren't as expected (Brimscomb & Thrupp in 2nd, Kiddy still 3rd) Four sides are well placed just behind these, with a game in hand though: - Nomads, Thatcham, HIghworth and HIghmoor/IBIS - the latter toddle along to Scours Lane tomorrow night (Tuesday)

Saw Maidenhead play twice last weekend. Saturday home to Hemel Hempstead was pretty woeful stuff, HH are not a great team but they took their chances and we offered literally nothing in the final third for the entire 90 minutes.

Bit more of a spirited performance in dreadful conditions at Bromley including 2 fantastic goals.

Bromley have a great set up ruined by delusions of league status. You get herded about like cattle between the two bars depending on the time of day, they play Chelsea Daggers after they score and you can’t take your beer onto the terrace.

Hopefully we're not at the start of a double digit losing streak, its a bit early in the season for that.

[Terminal Boardom]

An enjoyable game yesterday at Stag Meadow where Godalming Town edged it 2-0 with the second coming from our corner where we had sent up the 'keeper to try and salvage a draw. The best players on the pitch were the 4 central defenders which gives an idea of the sort of game it was. I can't fault the effort that Windsor put in but I really and getting fed up with the compete lack of a Plan B from the Management Team. All season, and much of last we have played 433 and this season it hasn't been anywhere near as effective as we do not have the strikeforce we had last season. Yesterday, it was a baffling 343 which was even worse. When you go 1-0 down after 65 minutes and you have failed to really test their keeper, something has to change. I am yet to see us play with 2 up front. As I have said before, WE ARE NOT BARCELONA!

The pleasing things about yesterday's game was the excellent referee and some away fans with scarves and a flag. It was a bit wierd seeing people at the other end of the ground.

At least next Saturday we host Shrivenham in the FA Vase on Non League Day. First time we have had a home game for this event so hopefully we should get a few newbies along.

Car parking can be a nightmare round there because of the gym and local residents. If travelling by train, give yourself plenty of time as it is a fair walk but once you get there it's a tidy little place. The clubhouse is excellent as well. They also produce one of the biggest matchday programmes I have seen. No surprise that it is entitled "The Staines Massive".

Preaching to the converted on his thread I know, but it is difficult to describe just how refreshing (and good) it is having a decent pint in view of the pitch, hearing the players' shouts, and chatting to opposing fans without animosity.
