FAO: The Unrealistic Whingers

An excellent read if you can stop whining for just 5 minutes. http://t.co/aDNUYsGwS0

If you still want to complain about lack of ambition and nonsense like that, please, for our entertainment, give it your best shot.

Charles Watts is the voice of reason once again.

Really like Watts. So much better than Fordham.

Good article. It conveys a vocalisation of rationality.

Quite right.

However, I would point out that whingers whinge, whereas it whiners who whine. However, as I had to make two corrections to that last sentence before submitting, I do recognise the problem.

Really well said.

Strange how his worry is left midfield when we have mackie, blackman, HRK, mccleary, edwards and tanner who can all play there though?

Left back is the worry but we can only hope NA is looking for loans.

Edwards is a right winger. McCleary is a right winger. Tanner is a forward.

Mackie is predominantly a right forward, Blackman's been mainly used as a right forward to cut inside. HRK, yes, assuming he can both get fit and get good.

Every winger has a stronger wing I agree, but any professional winger should be able to do a job on both sides of the pitch.

Have to agree with what he says.

Cox, Mackie and Murray are a more than fair trade off for Le Fondre

The McCarthy or Feds to leave arguement has been rumbling for 2 years so no surprise there. We've cashed in and it still leaves us with 2 very good keepers and a batch of promising youngsters at the club.

Ferdinand for Morrison. Replacing one injury and error prone defender with another but with £3m cash.

The Ferdinand signing reminds me a bit of Duberry, a bit of a "name" player, not an overly inspiring signing but a player with maybe something to prove. On balance, Duberry turned out to be an ok signing, i think Ferdinand will too.

Oliver Norwood. Offers something different. A long term signing which helps fill an big hole in the squad because of injuries as of now.

This summer could have been a whole lot worse and I think this window was the time to take stock and consolidate for future strengthening when the ownership is sorted out. We are still short of a left back but we have the opportunity to rectify that when the loan window opens

An excellent point but surely whingers can also whine? And whiners can whinge?

Wise words from Charlie, but hasn't Sparta been one of the biggest whingers on here in the past?

I think it's been decent too, but I do still wish we got a whippet striker and a proper left back to fight it out with Obita!

Can't disagree with that, especially the left back. If you have no pace in your side, then you need good movement. That's one area that coaching can improve. Now that Adkins has had a chance to bring in a few of his own players and our injury list decreases, he has to start improving our performances and results.

We had a good window. Brought in some players, moved some out (those who wanted/were expected to go and those who didn't fit the style of play) and didn't lose Obita.

With the ownership shambles we were dealing with since last season it was probably more than would've been expected in terms of players being brought in. Can't wait to get some of the lads back from injury and see what this squad can do at fuller strength.

Not about players in and out or the takeover. Regarding the club and their gimmicks, then yeah, probably.

I don't follow any football on Twitter or facebook but has there really been that much "anger" about things?

Can't say I've seen much around here aside from the usual Anti-Madejski grunters.

That is an excellent level-headed article.
He really should know the difference between "barrack" and "barricade" though.
