Not sure this has ever been posted. I still maintain the second is one of the best counter attacking goals I have ever seen.

Having seen it at the time, and re-watched it just now I'd have to put it in the same bracket as Bobby Convey v Millwall

New to me in fact all three goals were good. Mass Sarrs pass for the second is sublime! Sadly it was all down hill from there.

Was that the 1st game at the Mad Stad? I seem to remember the 1st goal being different. Grant Brebner?

Yep that's the first game, my memory of the Brebner goal is cloudy, But I think the PA guy announced the goal scorer as "History maker Grant Brebner".

Action from Preston home 1982/83. Our lowest ever home league gate.

I loved that ball from the early 80s, red hexagonal hoop.

Great spot Tony. I didn't realise it had been televised.

Not one for the purists. 4:39 onwards. Humbled by Colchester United in the Cup. Remember several Reading fans being attacked near the station.

Also - Jones 3 - Sunderland 0 4:32 onwards

Great find! We've been after that for years. There were rumours a man in Colchester had it on Betamax but we haven't been able to get hold of him!

I see the weather may have had something to do with the attendance - not being there myself (yeh, yeh, plastic, I know. I got an excuse).

A 3-0 Defeat away to Cambridge in 1991. John Beck's ultra long ball tactics seen to full effect in these highlights. This is the first time ive seen the highlights since the game and can remember Francis conceding that 'knee up' penalty like it was yesterday, weird.

I thought this had been locked away in the archives. I was at this game and remember it being televised for some reason I always thought David Bobin did the commentry not Gerald Sinstad. The other one I would love to find is a 5-1 win over Northampton during the 78-79 championship winning season. Bowman Earles Kearns Sanchez Death ect.

Loved that ball as a kid too. A Stuart Surridge UFO I think they were called. As seen at Portman Road and Old Trafford in the late 70s early 80s. Looked really good being kicked around in the park with your mates, jumpers for goal posts, take your muddy clothes off on the back step you're not coming in like that....good memories are flooding back!

Jesus, I feel old now. I haven't even clicked the link yet but can still remember the goal and the commentary for the goal.
