They can sign players up to the end of this transfer window as I understand, it's the next two windows they can't sign anyone in. But given they've just spent £150m on six players, one has to wonder how on earth they will cope.

Caught Dortmund vs Stuttgart last night

Sluggish 1st half and then Stuttgart came out much better at start of 2nd half, with Dortmund's defence all over the place. 2 late goals from Aubeyamang & Immobile resuced a point - should've won it too, when Immobile had one cleared off the line.

Gripping final 20-25 minutes, loved it.

A m8 of mine has two jobs this season at Kicker. He has to cover games for Stuttgart & 1. FC Nürnberg. Bobic was sacked as director of football yesterday and (in May relegated) Nürnberg lost 3-0 away last night against newly promoted Heidenheim in the 2. Bl and are currently in 16th position (from 18). An emergency meeting of the board has been called and it is expected that Nürnberg will sack both their manager and Martin Bader, their director of football (who has been in the position for ten years) this afternoon.

The m8 is busy, but (in his own words), at least he has no shortage of things to write about.

Meanwhile, also in Germany's second tier, (although it's early days) RB Leipzig are looking serious contenders to go straight up into the 1. Bl. Germany's most hated club.

RB officially stands fro RasenBallsport (grass-ball-sport) Leipzig but yes, the club is owned by Red Bull. RasenBallsport was their way around the regulations prohibiting a club from having the sponsors name in the club's name. And getting around regulations is something they have proven to be good at. The club (as a whole) is basically a marketing tool, and this has gone down very badly with other clubs and their fans.

Don't they play with about 1,500 home fans rattling about in a 45,000 seat stadium?

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't it enshrined in the Bundesliga rules that members have a say in how clubs are run. Most clubs have open membership numbering in the 10s of thousands. Leipzig have a closed membership of about 15 and most of them are Red Bull executives.

It's not technically a closed membership but it costs €800 per year to join and the current members can black ball any possible new member without a reason. So whilst it is closed, it does meet the current rules.

Compare Leipzig to Bayern where it is €20 a year to be a member and you are virtually guaranteed to be accepted if you apply.

They are averaging about 20k per home game so far this season.

Atletico Madrid captain Gabi admits involvment in fixing a match for Zaragoza when he played there. He says Zaragoza used his bank account to transfer money to a Levante player in the end of season game 3 years ago that they won and avoided relegation. Though he says he was just doing what he was told and didnt really want any part.
