Pepe the Horseman I've missed this

MaguireExtended-PhenotypeMaguire I was merely addressing the assertion that we have a very inexperienced squad. We don't.
The addition of Akpan as an international was a little light humour on my part.
1) Not sure the point being made was that we lack experience on the injury list but if you think its worth pointing out, go for it
2) Hee hee
Thank you for what was, as ever, a spellbinding contribution on your part.

Maguire The o/p (andrew someone or other) addressed the topic of injuries in an entirely separate point. I helpfully clipped this out of my quote to make it clear which of his points I was replying to.
I doubt anybody will contest the injury list, but 11 (or so) of the players I mentioned have had game time this season - it's just a myth that we sold off all our experience and are left with a squad full of under 21s.

Hoop Blah I think it's still fair to say that the 'squad' Adkins has had to select from is pretty inexperienced (and basically shit!) in certain areas and the lack of strength/experience in depth is seriously hampering things.
Our first choice back four contains two players who've played about 40 Championship games in defence between them. Beyond those two we have no cover or competition. That's where we're lacking.
In the middle of the park we're relying on players, Norwood aside, with very limited experience and it just makes us far too easy to bully and breakdown. Our two best midfielders who've been available are Norwood (who looks very tidy) and Akpan who, depsite his size and stature, is powderpuff, scared of a tackle and isn't naturally comfortable shielding the back four. It's a shame we've not seen more of Kuhl though, but him and Norwood together is just too lightweight isn't it?
It's Adkins responsibilty to address those weaknesses though.

sandman If you think it's ott then that's your prerogative but the evidence so far in comparison with the rest of his managerial career suggests it's not far fetched at all. Some people and their methods work at certain clubs but not others and that is what we are seeing here.

Its also Adkins' job to stop them happening in the first place.

Royal Rother Coppell's sessions had no tackling - not sure how they learned to tackle but that's what Kevin Dillon said.
(As a result?) Team 106 had a remarkably injury-free season.
