Shame the game was ruined by Phil Dowd. Missed our clear penalty when Ivanovic and JT were assaulted in the penalty area, given that Michael Oliver gave the Bony/Shawcross one last week. The Ivanovic sending off was farcical really. You would hope the FA rescind at least one of those yellows. Especially when you saw Aguero's tackle on the West Ham player over the weekend (definite straight red - similar to Azpilcueta's last week v Palace) and yet again he got away with it. Kompany was also on a yellow card and did a foul very similar against West Ham, in which Ivanovic got his 2nd yellow but got away with it.

Poor consistency from the referees again this weekend.

Seem to remember you being a big fan of Dowd a couple of years ago Kes. In fact, didn't you start a Phil Dowd appreciation thread?

Lot more respect for Chelsea these days. By far and away the best team to watch in the league. And they will win the title this seqason, comfortably. They've even respected the League Cup by playing a strong side in the televised game at Shrewsbury tonight, fair play.

Interesting sub-plot to follow most years when the PL spending machine starts rolling is to watch if the new signings make an impact.

Jose seems to have chosen wisely with Costa & Fabregas, Sanchez also looking like good business for Arsenal. These 3 are way in front of the other big money deals at this stage.

Knew Costa would fit in effortlessly at Chelsea, gets plenty of goals, had a great season with Atletico............but mostly because he's easy to dislike and he looks like Gus Poyet's son.
