SCIAG
mambo3 Dom Samuel has a better goal average then all of them and plays against the same players who the 1st Team have played thru the season and will never play for NA it seems. His wages is probably less 2% of his weekly wage

In 5(1) competitive appearances this season, Samuel has scored 2 goals, against a much lower standard of opposition than the first team face. He isn't clearly first choice any more and might not be playing so often if Cardwell wasn't needed in the U18s.

In fairness to Samuel, he's been without the service of Stacey, Tshibola, Kuhl and particularly Tanner, but he's not been short on chances. With everyone available, there's a good chance we'll use Stacey or Tanner as the notional striker.

Glenn Murray

by staywithme9999 » 03 Nov 2014 18:28

Hi Guys, Glenn's a proven goalscorer in the championship, and is doing brilliantly for us. Does anyone have the low down on his situation with Crystal Palace, obviously he's on loan till January, but do you think we'll sign him or get him again on loan till the end of the season. I think I'd like to place a bet on him bieng top scorer at 33/1 in the championship, but obviously need him to stay for the full season to have a chance of winning! Do you think he'll still be on penalties though now, or will it depend on whether Blackman's on the pitch? Thanks for feedback! Cheers

Hi everyone, What's the situation developing regarding Glenn Murray? 25/1 bet365 to be top scorer seems a good price, assuming he definitely stays after January mind! Will he be on penalties after his miss though, or will that depend on Blackman's game time? Any thoughts on Murray as top scorer and whether he'll definitely stay! Thanks

It's not complicated - no one here has the foggiest idea what's going on at the club or with the loan situation.

I'd quite like him to stay. He's the first player since Jimmy Quinn I have confidence in scoring headers on a regular basis.

Ian Royal
Extended-Phenotype He might not be good/fit
If he’s good we might not be able to hold onto him

The happy part is what, “at least we won’t have spent much money”?

Party on.

Why do you keep trotting out this line? It's not even remotely accurate based on the information available.

Quite. The deal could easily get hijacked by another club buying the player's loyalty if he does come good with us.

In these types of deals it is normally a part of the loan contract that it automatically becomes a permanent deal on a certain date (the end of the loan ) unless we pull the plug. Neither Murray or Palace can do anything about it and another club can't hijack it either. I would be very surprised if it was structured any other way.

The fee has already been agreed and put in the contract and Murray will have already agreed personal terms.

Not so sure

“When it comes to January it will be down to the clubs and then I will make my decision on the back of that. But I can’t see why it couldn’t be permanent,” he said.

As i said.....

Is it time to start talking down his contribution?

He's been ok... Pog offers more.

Murrays decent but not worth 3.5mill... No point spending silly cash on someone who probably has 2 seasons max left in him

We shouldn't have to pay anywhere near that. Fee and wages should already have been agreed. If not, everyone should be sacked/resign.

If that was the fee agreed, then whoever agreed it should be shot.

This.
This is what the RFC tubthumpers have been yelling at anyone who dared suggest loaning Murray was a cop-out. If it's not the case I want to see heads rolling, including Ian Royal's.

I've been doing that for a while now.
His last 37 shots have resulted in 3 goals.
£25K a week on a striker that, since debut, has required over 12 shots for each goal.

As if Derby have valued him at £3.5million... Absolute nonsense story.

Signing Murray for the supposedly agreed fee of £1.5 million, would be a poor move for Reading. He's 31. He'll probably want a contract until 2016. He'll probably want wages very similar to what he's on now. The guy is Pog MkII. And we've not even shifted Pog MkI yet.

Let Murray clear off in January. Sign a striker with a bit of oxf*rd pace, who's not in their thirties, and might possibly be worth more than we bought him for in a few years time.

Seems a bit much. Can we agree that Ian Royal has to resign and everybody else carries on as normal?
