Whilst I'm glad to see some optimism on here, I'm still unconvinced. There was a period early in the second half where we could easily have conceded and gone on to lose the game - we were lucky Rotherham were too poor to take advantage of our extremely shaky defence.

Positives for me -

Mackie actually looked half decent.
Cox still looks excellent.
Ferdinand looked extremely comfortable at this level.
Williams brought some much needed solidity to our midfield.

Negatives -

We need a proper left back.
Murray still (to me) doesn't look like an upgrade to Pog.
Ferdinand getting injured again.

I agree, the whole point of buying a season ticket is to be able to sit in the same seat every week, and be guaranteed big game tickets, and to save money.
And I do begrudge the fact that people will save a fiver or so, every single game, that's a lot over a season....

assuming you are implying I have alluded to that, I’ve obviously not explained it properly. I couldn't care less what someone else pays for a ticket it has no bearing on me or my life. The point I’m making is there are numerous ways of paying less for a ticket. If you turn up on the day expect to pay more, this is not a new concept.

You then activate your matches as and when you feel like going.

There's no reason to feel sorry for part-timers and their 'expensive' tickets. If they want cheaper tickets, they can get them, provided they put a bit of effort in and don't just turn up 5 minutes before a game and start whinging about the price.


OUT for slashing matchday prices for fair-weathers.
IN for offering cheaper tickets for those that show a bit of commitment and preparation.

And I wasn't suggesting it be used every game - simply that on the three or four occasions during the season where we have an already low gate (because it's Rotherham, for example) for a midweek game in rotten weather, we might reduce prices slightly to try to fill the ground a bit more and improve the atmosphere.

ST holders should get their knickers in a twist about the likes of me, who has been to about 20 games in the last 3 years without paying a cent.

Presumably you have blagged tickets from a box holder or such like, in which case they have paid way more than the STH for your seat. So thanks to the person who is subsidising the rest of us. It makes no odds who uses the ticket once it's been paid for.

As for reducing prices, I see no real problem with doing it once or twice a season, you could even link it to season tickets so that each season ticket holder could bring a second person for a tenner for these relatively unattractive midweek games.

Yeah, massive oxf*rd up on my part. Can't see the numbers or names clearly enough so tend to just rely on where players are on the pitch and body shape etc. It never even occurred to me to look carefully to see what side Gunter and Kelly were on. I thought Kelly looked quicker and more adventurous!

Gunter definitely much improved.

In fairness to IR, I couldn't see their names or numbers either. I twigged it after about 10/15 minutes when I though "Kelly's" running style reminded me of Gunter's.
I thought both played well. Good to see Gunter actually getting crosses in (even on his weaker foot) and a shame he bottled the shot.
Defence as a whole looked much more solid.
+1 on Norwood and Mackie looking similar from distance.

Thought Mackie was MOTM. Fine performance, well-taken goal, brilliant pass for Cox's 1st, hand in his 2nd as well.
Cox & Murray also deserving of special mentions. 2 quality finishes from Cox. Murray good link up play.

I'm convinced every ref has it in for Murray. Half the time he is fouled and it's given the other way, most of the rest are ignored. He rarely gets anything. It's as if he sh#t on the cake at the refs' Christmas party or something.
