Poll - Adkins In or Out

by Lacoste » 08 Nov 2014 17:48

Thought we should have a poll and not sure if I can add one to an existing thread.

Expires on Monday night, lets see what the opinions are.

So, we've had a terrible run with terrible defending. We then win a couple of games out of the last four, start playing slightly slicker football whilst still creating chances and tighten up the defence. We're finally getting the big players back who've been injured all season and NOW you want to sack him?

Three weeks ago or not until the end of December at the earliest.

sorry but the teams we've beaten recently (2) have been teams most teams will beat this season. When we come up against average teams we get done.

How have we tightened up the defence..???? A week ago we shipped 3. Today, against a defensive and average away side they scored from one of their 2 or (3 possibly) chances. They then sat tight and we had absolutely no answer. Their defence was untroubled. This was against Charlton at home FFS. We were clueless.

Not just our last 2 wins. Our last 4 wins have all been against bottom third opposition, at home. And as you say we've been shite in almost every other scenario:

Our record against 'bottom third opposition at home':
Pl 4, W4. Scored 12, Conceded 2

Our record against non-'bottom third opposition at home':
Pl 13, W2, D3, L8. Scored 10, Conceded 25.

7 defeats from our last 11 games. Cardiff and Norwich away next. I fear by the time he is sacked it will be to late all the other decent managers have been snapped up.

Who are these "decent managers" that are out there waiting to be snapped up?

Definitely out for me. His heart's not in it.... its a pay cheque that he will continue to take until he is fired as he wants his pay-off.

I'm actually quite hopeful he'll be booted before xmas now. The coming fixtures look horrific & I can see him losing the lot. All the games we 'should' have won we've fcuked up so the clock is absolutely ticking now.

This forum is almost equally divided between pro and anti Adkins, one way or another something needs to be done. either we need to improve . or he needs to go to unite us all to the Reading cause again , I`m sicerely hoping it`s the former, but even I accept the next 7 fixture before the new year will define whether he is right for the long term future of our club

Yes look at the situation at a totally different club to us. Why don't we look at the situation at Bolton or Birmingham as well?

I voted out, really don't like him.
I remember being gutted when he was appointed.
However, who do you bring in? The other poll suggests Dolan (who i also voted for), but we're all hoping he can be another McD, what if he isn't?
Then you're looking at Mackay, Parkie, Ince.. there's really not a lot out there. I'd have an ex-Reading player in a heartbeat, love the fact smaller clubs can be where new managers make their name. Bryn?

I voted out. Supported NA till the Blackburn game. I think the this team looks unconfident and as the weeks and losses go on the damage is irrepairable. These arnt bad players but some of the tactics and team selections just mystify me. Its heading towards Bodgers syndrome. No way back and a new manager/coach is required with new ideas who knows the players and can at least provide a fresh mind.
