That 3rd goal was a cracker, I know it was only Scotland but we actually look to have a decent team and played some good stuff. Much better that the usual team of strangers we're used to.

And this. Lallana was very good, in fact all of the attacking 6 bar Downing had very good games.

jd82 I'm no gr8 fan of Wilshere, but that is one hell of a pass

This, quite beautiful. And Ox's goal - what a change to see an England midfielder making a run into the box.

I know, right? Ox should definitely be dropped by Hodgson for that.

Scotland have recently ground out decent results against better teams than england, I wonder if the occasion got the best of them because they made us look like Germany last night. And we are nowhere near that.

Apparently Scotland had more possession, did not seem that way. England dominated the game.

Rooney!!
The ITV commentator did get the identity of the first goalscorer wrong at first, didn't he?

I counted 14 passes for the third goal - excellent stuff. We would never have had that under Graham Taylor.

Home and recovered. Fantastic point for us. Normally we would've buckled under the pressure they put on us in the final 10, but fairplay to the likes of Hennessey and Chester for standing tall and putting everything on the line.

HRK - 7, always links up well with Bale. Some good runs, and good battle against Vertonghen.
Gunter - 8, considering he was up against Hazard, he put in a good shift. Linked up well with HRK.
Taylor - Didn't get off the bench.

Israel away next is another big one.

Disappointed that Scotland didn't really turn up last night but the real purpose of this international break was 3 pts on Friday so job done

I also enjoyed Clive Tyldesley's failure to tell the difference between Rooney and Ox for the first goal

I watched the game on Sky. England games are a lot more enjoyable when they're not on ITV

John Madejski's Wallet First England game that's remotely kept my interest in while.

2 very nice goals these last two

agreed. really nice performance in a tough atmosphere against a charged up Scotland team.
great possession, but also really effective attacking play, lovely slick one touch passing. every player seemed able to receive and keep the ball under pressure, the pressing was fantastic, and didn't let up for the whole game.

keep this up England and I may just give a oxf*rd by the time the euros start

John Madejski's Wallet Also, where was this amazing cauldron of noise that they kept saying there would be at Parkhead?

Only really heard England fans for large chunks of this

atmosphere at the start with the proclaimers singalong sounded totally epic.
all fans sing less when they lose. and all stadia/TV companies put the Mics near the away fans

Very noticeable that they've adopted very similar tactics to Southampton last year.

The high press game really suits the athleticism we like in England, while maintaining the technical aspect of the game you need these days.

Glen Hoddle has a serious man crush on Llalana, won't shut up about him.

My only criticism of Sky was having Carragher and Redknapp in the studio. Two players that barely played for England.

There was only one person (Rooney) in the side last night with more caps than Carragher. Nice try though Kes.

Only 38 appearances and 17 for Redknapp. It's not as if there aren't pundits/ex pro's out there with more caps than those two put together.

Again - Liverpool bias on the pundits.

Noticed I included a BME player too. Unlike SKY.
