Hendo If its nothing to do with players, what sort of team would you expect them to field?

obviously the one that would generate the most revenue

Any team then, at least initially. Man Utd playing anywhere in Asia will sell out, even if the U21s end up playing.

Would there be scope for broadcast deals that might vary in value depending on the team selection?

Well maybe but I can't see them trecking all the way to Asia midweek. Don't think there would be too much going for it if it was just a bunch of kids if games were played in England.

Maybe if there were 7 or 8 first XI with a few exciting kids in the team.

In that the games wouldn't be for the players benefit because the usual crap about players being tired will be trotted out in March if not before. Flogged to death like the Harlem Globetrotters around Asia and/or Dubai against a Presidents 11 to help fund the CL revenue sized hole in the accounts.

That's already been filled with additional sponsorship deals.

This particular hole in the accounts is South American sized.

Must say De Gea was brilliant yesterday, couple of 'worldies'.

It's suddenly all smiles at ManU but they could and should have lost that game if it wasn't for de Gea.

This could apply to the majority of teams/games.

> Quarter of the season gone, mid table with Swansea, Southampton and West Ham riding above them.

Their current incumbant said that the first dozen games wouldn't count that much.......just the two to go.

Will the "cloggie" be their next scapegoat for the evolution of their god-given game?

Ed Woodward you utter bell end. You are shit in the league, you are not in Europe but yay you are ruling social media. Twats.

'When Daley Blind signed from Ajax in August his Twitter following increased by 72 per cent, with his daily increase up an incredible 50 times.
'We have six million followers on Facebook. 3.8m Twitter followers and have accumulated 87m followers across all social media. We are directly in touch with over 100m fans.
'The club’s media reach is further illustrated by research that shows for every article on our own website - and there about 150 of those every month - a further 160 articles about Manchester United are written elsewhere and 13,500 social media posts are made about the club.
'This impressive multiplier effect shows the popularity of the club around the world.'

Agreed. Yet they are somehow 3rd in the table, ridiculous.

On a related note, Fellaini is quite possibly the worst footballer to play for a 'top 5' side there's ever been. How Everton managed to trick Utd into paying 26m+ for him I'll never know.

It's not often I'll subscribe to the theory that the standard of an English league has slipped, but the Premier League is pretty shit this season. United have been toilet, yet have won 8 times and sit 3rd. City are a shadow of the team they have been before. The rest (bar Chelsea) are nowhere.
