I'd like to have Pardew back here. No chance of that now though after Newcastle's 6 straight wins and their fickLOLe fans now singing his praises and pretending they loved him all along.

I was just thinking last night that if we were to replace a manager we've lost respect for - then the ideal person would be somebody who introduced a faith healer to the England Squad, and believed the disabled were criminals in a previous life.

Just to put it into perspective a bit, I don't think anyone is particularly backing Adkins himself, most INers seem to be advocating the backing of anybody in a period where it is still rather difficult to assess if our problems are manager based, while keeping in mind what few genuine options we have for replacement.

I reckons Adkins needs at least the January window. Sounds like he has had no financial support since getting here - this might be the transfer period we finally get a bit of cash to spend; McD turned things around with the help of January signings, let's see if Nige can do it too, if not, Adkins oot.

WHY are some people suggesting Phil Parkinson? (well they were on Radio Berks anyway). He's hardly setting the world alight at the moment with Bradford ffs. We need Coppell back to steady the ship imho.

Personally I'd like to see someone with a long-standing connection to the club, either Brian McDermott or Eamon Dolan.

I think McDermott would certainly keep us up and his pragmatic style would suit our current situation my view. I'd certainly back him to re-establish us as a competitive Championship team relatively quickly.

I think Dolan would be a poppose choice and would help to bring through some of the younger plays. I'd be slightly thoughif confidence has been completely destroyed as to whether this would be the right approach though or if it might risk us ending up in a relegation battle.
