Time for a protest at the Watford game

by Cpl Jones Dont panic » 14 Dec 2014 15:31

This cannot be allowed to carry on. It's like buying a new house but the old owners want to stay living in the house and have a say in how the house should be run .

John M , Nicky H and all the old board must leave and then it's a case of back NA or sack him .

On saturday it's time to make our feelings known .

I'll be showing my disgust in the usual way.
By not clapping or singing for the whole game. That'll learn em

The original suggestion for pants day was for fans, if so minded to lay a pair of pants on the chairman's car as they entered the ground. The idea blossomed into the actual event being to 'swing your pants' above your head during a game. Something current or more imaginative involving 'christ-massy' tangerines or tanning lotion might be more appropriate??? Any protest has to be relatively spontaneous in order to capture the imagination and mood, but above all else it should be harmless and funny!

Protests only seem to work when they are spontaneous. If you need to organise a protest, it kind of suggests the depth of feeling isn't quite as great as you think.

I might show my disdain by not bothering to turn up, particularly if it's cold.

So basically get rid of anyone with experiance of running a football club.
You may want to think about that one for a bit.

Just so, however the logistics of who, what, when and where do have to be coordinated for effect, so a little organisation is always necessary!

Absolutely ridiculous, I hope you do this protest, no one else joins in and you look like an idiot. The men you have mentioned are not the ones responsible for the mess we're in, he buggered off to Russia a long time ago. The ones you want to protest against are the ones who were in charge during our climb from a rubbish 3rd and 4th tier team to a respectable 2nd tier team, occasional Premier League weakling.

You have come to the conclusion that the club has gone to shit since the Russian was involved so it must be Madejski's fault? Come the oxf*rd on.

Given the drop in attendances, I would suggest any further attempt to communicate displeasure with the state of affairs to the owners and operators of Reading FC are pretty superfluous.

Perhaps we should take Thai takeaways to the game and lob them at the .................... oh yes, missing Thai owners

May be I should ask in advance if they require chilli sauce ??

Surely it would be better to turn up, not enter the ground and stage a peaceful demostration outside .

Not turning up suggests not giving a toss and the club will put it down to Christmas.

The team running out to an absolutely silent stadium (insert standard Kes comment here) would be quite eerie and I am sure would have quite an impact tbh

Go to the game, turn your back at a given time, or better still attend, but absolutely don't buy anything from any club source or outlet on the day! They will take notice of revenue streams drying up and the pressure is brought to bear by the franchise's complaining about the lack of sales!

Yeah, noted, difficult one to pull off in any event, but a very effective way of drawing attention to an issue because they always have measures in place to assess how staff costs/ratios pan out!

You should try mogadon and a hip flask!

'greed. Should do the not turning up thing after Christmas and go to watch a Non- League game instead. That way people can wear the Macs they got for Christmas and with Non-League football being so much more fan friendly than the modern professional game it's possible that the Maidenhead tannoy man would play requests like, the greatest hits of Jethro Tull, Yes and King Crimson.
