ZacNaloen That was prior to losing 6-1 to a team below us in the league.

So you think he was sacked because of one result?

Imagine that I'm making an analogy that involves straw and camels.

Interesting that our new owners have sacked our manager before even introducing themselves to the fans.

So the guy who created this whole f*cking mess (the initial sale(s) and then what happened whilst he was 'in day to day charge') - the so-called genius business man - is still hanging around like a bad smell! No doubt still conspicuous by his absence as he only seems to want to appear when the plaudits are being handed out and it's been bad news time for the past year.

They say be careful what you wish for and I hope those who wished for Adkins sacking remember that when the next fall guy is appointed and also struggles because the owners and board don't provide the backing that is needed.

Wonder if he can find any positives to take from that! Onwards and upwards......

Why are people trying to make out this club is some kind of poisoned chalice?

Many FL managers would love to have internationals and golden boot winners at their disposal, not to mention some long serving directors that care greatly about the club.

In addition, the fans are very very supportive - as has been shown by the amount of patience afforded to incompetent Nigel & his team of staff.

Finally, if we were that fcuked we'd have been hit with an embargo today wouldn't we? Too much emphasis is being placed on ownership & not enough on the management's poor performance.

I don't buy into all this "Who wants to come here". We ain't Pompey, we have a great academy & great infrastructure. Absolutely confident we can get someone decent in.

Do all those calling for Pulis not remember what he needs to be successful? It's called cash - the very thing that the mouthpiece Hammond says we can't spend (even if we have got it).

ZacNaloen This had to happen results were just getting worse, but I did wonder if we could afford to pay him up.

I suspect that they will stage his payments to avoid any overspend. Then, if Dolan gets the job for a while the outgoings are effectively unchanged.

Sad to see such a decent bloke lose his job so close to Christmas, but to be honest it had to happen.

The football has been tosh all season, there hasn't been the development of youngsters we were hoping to see, and the fanbase was becoming increasingly apathetic.

Good to see signs of life at the board level.

Dolan for me, though would be happy to see someone with fresh ideas come in too. Someone like Clarke or Sherwood. Really doubt Pulis would be interested. I r8 Karl Robinson but is probably too similar to Adkins/Rodgers. Paul Clement is a lively outside. Would love to see Hoddle come in.

SCIAG Don't think Adkins deserved to be sacked. In all probability it's a knee-jerk reaction to the 6-1.

I presume you are a wind up merchant as this probably one of the daftest things ever said on this forum! ( and boy there's been some shite over the years)
What about the other 80 odd games of sheer rubbish

I wonder if we'll sign Murray now?

"Somebody decent" caveat with "that's free" because we now have no budget in January to sign players and no money to release a manager from a contract. Murray leaving in Jan leaves us with 2 recognized strikers (Pog + Cox)

I'd expect with his pay out, I don't think it'll be a lean Christmas.

melonhead So similar to the rogers reign and sacking.

Yep - 67 games after we were relegated - exactly the same as Rogers.

THE CURSE OF 67.

Hearing that the "Thai's" are looking to recruit someone from their country, someone I have never heard of and has little to no experience in football.

Yay....

Very sad day.

I thought that we massively underperformed last season and thought NA should be sacked at the end of it.

However, after what transpired last summer he had my sympathy and I thought we should give him a chance this season.

But one has to say that after Saturday his position became all but untenable. RFC under him was in severe danger of becoming a joke team. The improved futunes of Bolton and Brum under new leadership would have been noted by the board.

Now it is Dolan for me. He is a very good coach and deserves the chance – if indeed he wants the job.

Other than that I would like Brian back – who IMO should never have been sacked.

Absolutely no doubt he was dealt a bad hand but come on RB.....he wasn't exactly coaching Messi at Glanford Park was he? Not the first time he's had a limited budget. Them's the breaks. Lets all stop trying to pretend he was stuck with a load of 15 year olds. For starters, he should have spent what little he had on reinforcements at the back & he didn't.
