there hasn't been the development of youngsters we were hoping to see

Rightly so, they've looked woefully out of their depth. People crack on like the academy system is one of the best, the likes of Jake Taylor and Craig Tanner have proven otherwise.

Can't say I'm sorry at this news. Proved to be a piss poor coach and, on the whole, we played some atrocious football under him.

Can't see Pulis coming here, tbh tbf, as it don't think we can afford him. Hasn't always worked for us when we've gone for a big name unconnected with the club so I'd rather it was someone with a connection to us.

Would love Coppell, Downes & Dillon to come back until the end of the season.

MmmMonsterMunch Why are people trying to make out this club is some kind of poisoned chalice?

Many FL managers would love to have internationals and golden boot winners at their disposal, not to mention some long serving directors that care greatly about the club.

In addition, the fans are very very supportive - as has been shown by the amount of patience afforded to incompetent Nigel & his team of staff.

Finally, if we were that fcuked we'd have been hit with an embargo today wouldn't we? Too much emphasis is being placed on ownership & not enough on the management's poor performance.

I don't buy into all this "Who wants to come here". We ain't Pompey, we have a great academy & great infrastructure. Absolutely confident we can get someone decent in.

I think it might have something to do with a massive wage bill and an alleged inability to sign anyone thanks to said wage bill and FFP.

As the club have not said anything about who is a caretaker suggests that an appointment could be imminent.

No transfer embargo was placed on Reading due to FFP. Your post makes no sense at all Ian.

In fairness, we aren't the only club in this division subject to FFP. Even the three that come down will have to get used to it eventually (are you listening, Fulham?). In short, if you fancy yourself as a manager in the Championship, you are pretty much going to have to get used to the state of affairs.

Agree with the rest. NH may not have wished to have been so frank in his Radio Berks interview; and I doubt we'll be making any attractive promises at the Job Interviews.

Erm, is that the Craig Tanner that scored on his debut and has barely featured since because of injury? And the Jake Taylor that scored twice in the league, once in the cup and got one assist, despite being played out of position?

What a shitty Academy we have.

That doesn't mean we have money available to make signings without breaching FFP

I know the reception might not be good enough on your radio, Ian, but Jake Taylor is not up to standard, he is awful.

This has got "Gylfi Sigurdsson - Player Manager" written all over it.

But it doesn't mean we can't sign players either. You're assuming that any signings would breach FFP - that is not necessarily the case.

There are plenty of hungry managers out there that would love to join a club like ours regardless of £ available anyway. Stop making out that signings are a deal breaker as they aren't. Most other FL clubs have strict / non existent budgets too.

He's far from awful. Probably not up to standard, but then he's about the least exciting prospect close to the first team from our Academy.

If the least exciting prospect can do an ok job filling in out of position in an injury crisis, I think we've got a brilliant Academy.

Interesting that Rodgers is being "found out" at the same time at Anfield. Being a successful football club manager these days takes more than a stylish form. Vision beyond obvious fashion, recognition of talent, guts and resilience..for a few.

Just so I know, the next time I'm watching - who exactly are the exciting prospects?
