I can't find one single piece of information about him that makes me think he will do a good job for us - a dysfunctional Championship team.

Perhaps he has the same agent as HRK - can talk his way into anything.

SPARTA Watts, BBC, TalkSport, the lot, all confirming he'll be named today. Chuffed with that. I don't think we'd have got anyone better tbf. But he needs backing from the board. No good hoping for several miracles from the academy to get us where we want us to be!

Want us to start making progress and showing some signs of improvement.

A new era beckons, so I thought I'd finally get off my backside and sign up to Hob Nob. It's been a long time coming. Sorry for Nigel as he was dealt a bad hand although he didn't help himself on occasion in terms of tactics and team selection. Have to face it that were unlikely to attract a better manager than Steve Clarke (if it be he) at present, so I'd be happy with that appointment. We've not got a bad squad - it just needs a lift. Perhaps now we can 'move forward together'.

TBM you Pedant! OK, his style of play sounds like McDermott's style of play, better?!

PieEater He's not going to have the best of starts with the upcoming fixtures.

Of Watford H, Brighton A, Norwich H, Huddersfield A, Middlesboro H, Fulham A I'd be surprised to get more than 6 points.

He'll probably win the lot and will become the new messiah!

He was a victim of his own success at WBA and many people criticised their decision to sack him.

I'm happily whelmed by this.

His copybook has been sorely marked by the witnessing of his team's total capitulation in this game:-

In all honesty, whelmed. We'll be far from spectacular but we'll be ok under him. As for his demeanour, of course that really held Steve Coppell back didn't it?

Safe pair of hands, and probably cheap, so from the club's point of view what's not to like?

Better coach than manager, but then from the shambles we are currently in, a decent coach would have to be the priority. Maybe Hammond will do all the "manager" stuff, and let SC concentrate on the training ground? Let's face it, NH does already seem to do a lot of the manager's duties anyway, so makes sense.

Presumably NA/AC/DW will either continue to be paid monthly for the duration of their contracts (15 months left?), or will the club try to negotiate a lump sum settlement equivalent to somewhere between 0 months and 15 monhts of salary? Either way, seems the Murray money has been spunked on paying off the NA team so as to avoid FFP issues?

Never dull supporting this club is it?

Oh god here we go, the club do what many on here wanted and sack Adkins, it now looks increasingly likely that Steve Clarke is the new man and he is being slaughtered already. I thought the idea of supporting a club is to see them through thick and thin times, poor sod has only just got the job, probably and he is being slammed by the boo boys already !!!

Not knowing anything really about Steve C, who will be his number 2?

wht are there only 2 possibilities?

Surely it would all depend on what their employment contracts said m8.

Underwhelmed. Appreciate we're not the most attractive of propositions, but someone like Sherwood or Robinson, rather than Clarke or Hughton would have ticked a few more boxes for me. Strikes me a very similar to Irvine at WBA. Good coaches don't necessarily make the best managers and I'm always suspicious of those, that are dull as fcuk as TV interviewees. Coppell or Dalglish never gave much away, but there was always a sparkle in their eyes.

Sutekh First Rodgers, now probably Clarke. Seems we're skirting aroung the Chelsea staff, perhaps we're just waiting for Mourinho.....

It is a bit much to describe Rodgers as part of Chelsea rather than us! He spent most of his adult life at Reading.
